He would have been better off staying at Tulane as opposed to coming to LSU right now

His family is in Lafayette, less than 60 miles from campus.

But he was looking to move up from Tulane, he was contacted by a bunch of schools, many of which were tournament teams. He was offered almost immediately by Kentucky, why would he come to LSU?

I don't think anyone is questioning Kam Williams decision but are frustrated that McHallman can't even lure in local products with his new NIL war chest.

Well, supposedly he was considering LSU, so he was comparing Kentucky and LSU basketball.

Where in the OP did he compare LSU to UK?

UK will still have more $ to spend than LSU next year.

I know a coach that was able to keep local talent against UK

Isn’t that the point though? Simply giving MM comparable money to better coaches and programs won’t fix the true issue

ETA: why bother pointing out anything to the retard that consistently finds himself on the wrong side of history.

I'd say with a certain degree of belief that if LSU offered 10-15% more in NIL than Kentucky, he still would have chosen UK.

They are playing in the Sweet 16 tonight and LSU declined an automatic NIT bid. They have a 1st year head coach that won the NC as a player and played in the NBA. LSU has McLameDuck.

Wow! I see what you did there! How clever! His name is McMahon, see, and Curley Hallman is a losing football coach see and and— you put them together to make McHallman! Wow! How totally original! I almost missed that! That will get us a new basketball coach for sure!

People talk on here as if NIL is the only factor in these young men’s head. I read an ESPN writeup on this and Williams never mentioned NIL. I am sure he will get plenty but he committed to UK because he is a tall player with perimeter shooting skills (41% from 3) and his goal is to improve his NBA draftability. Pope/UK want 30 3 pt attempts per game so he will get the opportunity he seeks.

The money available will get some kids to listen, but we can't compete with history and program support.

It is rarely solely about the money unless it is so much more than the others it makes it easy to ignore the obvious issues with the team and whether you will play for a winner or not.
