Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan ran just one 40-yard dash—hand-timed at 4.54, 4.55 4.57

He’s always looked like a high 4.5 40 to me. I don’t see why anyone should’ve been surprised by his 40 times.

McMillan's 4.54-4.57 range at Arizona Pro Day shows exactly what scouts were concerned about. His contested catch ability has to compensate for middling speed. Big-bodied receivers like him usually need sub-4.5 times to crack the first round, but his game tape shows he wins differently. Route precision matters more than straight-line speed.

I hate this at the NFL level though where the corners are bigger, faster, smarter.
Late first sure. Top 10 gives me HUGE pause.

How does one pronounce that ridiculous “name”?

Maybe. So do a lot of guys. They also aren’t considered top 10 picks. I’m not going to dog the guy if we draft him. Seems like a great kid who does all the right things. But it’s a top 10 pick and I’d rather have his skill set in the form of a potentially special TE if we’re going the big physical pass catcher route.

Tyler Warren could be our qb

Still take him at 9.

That is what Colston and Thomas ran. We dont need him to blow the top off the defense. We need a guy who can catch inside, in coverage, and at the sticks.

Juwan Johnson too
Juwan Johnson combine
6’4”
230 lb
4.58
T- Mac
6’4”
213 lb
4.55 (seems to be the consensus)
Colston was a 7th rounder (11 lbs heavier), Thomas 2nd rounder, Johnson undrafted (17 lbs heavier)

Drew Brees was the one throwing those passes.
at the moment, we have Derek Carr.

Combine time vs pro day time
Posted on 3/19/25 at 9:03 pm to SlowFlowPro
Thomas was 79%tile in the broad
77%tile in 3 cone
75%tile in 20 yard shuttle
He performed well in the drills that catered to his game. 97%tile hands, 77%tile bench press too
They should make these guys do all the drills at the combine if they aren’t injured

Usually pro day times are faster. Combine he might have been in the 4.6s if he only ran a 4.5 at the pro day.
He slow slow

Isn't Olave and Shaheed enough speed?

Colston was a 7th rder and listed as a TE many places predraft

The underrated aspect of colstons game is his ability to mismatch vs slot corners, safeties, and linebacker because his hands and route running was elite.
Doesn't matter if they can run faster than him, he knew where to get open and Brees knew where he'd be.

Jerry Rice was slower. It's all about route running. Go ask Steve Largent about that
