New Orleans is on a death spiral

Thanks to Latoya and the morons who preceded her, NoLA is losing population faster than any other metro in the country.
And the people that leave are typically college educated, medium & high income earners.
A tragic trajectory for a city that millions of people truly do love. Sadly I don't see how it can course-correct given the demographics and inept crooks in charge.

"From 2020 to 2024, we’ve lost 3.90% of our population. The next three largest decreases are in San Juan, Jackson, and San Francisco, which fell by 2.09%, 2.05%, and 2,04%.
Our Exodus is almost twice the rate of all other entries on the list."

NOLA’s done; it’s over.

This is old news. The exodus slowed down in 2024.

I think that’s the plan, tbh.
Then, buildings and real estate become cheap, and LaToya’s ppl from out west can scoop them up for a steal.

Except you now can't even afford to buy property insurance on these buildings now.

What do you mean?
ETA: Judging by the downvotes, I get it now. People are afraid to say that it's because of the black people, so they use the euphemism, "demographics".

Don’t worry, the recent good feels from the NY attack/recovery, Super Bowl and MG will attract a fresh influx of liberal residents to keep it on the wrong track.

Nola is a shithole, shocker.

Isn't the whole state of Louisiana on a death spiral?
Posted on 3/15/25 at 10:14 am to RunninReb

Where is that population moving to? Out of state, across the lake, just out of the city limits?

I can only imagine how some of y’all would describe the city a hundred years ago, with gambling and prostitution everywhere, and real mafia running the docks.
If you harken back to the good old days, when was that halcyon era?

Hey I’m part of that statistic!

Considering Louisiana as a whole is also losing population (one of the highest per-capita), many are leaving the state entirely.

Norman misses the mark, it's not just the mayor, it's the whole city government, from the council members down. Corruption is just the rule. You simply can't attract businesses with the overhead required to operate in the city limits.

Actually demographics means black people in Latin
It’s named after the Greek philosopher Demosthenes who was black

I can only imagine why you won’t address the current situation ;)
