WASHINGTON/KYIV, March 4 (Reuters) - Ukraine said on Tuesday its forces could hold their own on the battlefield as they fight Russian troops after U.S. President Donald Trump paused military aid to Kyiv in the most dramatic step yet in his pivot towards closer ties with Russia.

quote:

Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said Kyiv still had the wherewithal to supply its troops. "Our military and the government have the capabilities, the tools, let's say, to maintain the situation on the front line," he said.

Shmyhal thanked the U.S. and emphasised that Kyiv wanted mutually-beneficial cooperation.

"We will continue to work with the U.S. through all available channels in a calm manner," he told a press conference. "We only have one plan - to win and to survive. Either we win, or the Plan B will be written by someone else."

Europe can nowtake over the tab.

just waiting to watch the EU step up and start funding their bestest buddies in Ukraine. Perfect time for a "new world leader" to emerge.

A pivot towards Russia? We aren’t providing arms to Russia. We are using leverage to get Ukraine to pivot to peace. The media is so duplicitous.

Switzerland isn’t sending arms to Ukraine. Is that supporting Russia?

There were 7 pages of media articles when Biden was near the end of his Presidency that Biden sent Ukraine money via the EU.

Why is the Trump admin and Rubio not recognizing this?

This statement just might be tested.

Depends on 2 things:

1. did Putin anticipate this? (probably not) If he did, he would have had extra time to try and put the material and men in place.

2. Is the ground still frozen? If not, ain't shite moving through the middle Volga/Don muck... the rasputitsa and global warming (ha!) just might be Ukraine's best friend right now.

Said another way. "We don't need no stinking weapons."
