depends on relationship with Kelly. O would probably love to do it! He's set, he's got the ring, the money, probably close to a dream finish for his career.

Would Kelly/LSU want him? That's probably the bigger issue.

O's buyout payments go through December this year. I personally dont know why he'd take on any coaching job right now. He's set to make another $4M or so this year regardless of coaching or not.

I dont think O under other circumstances would be a bad choice, but I question his motivation for coaching when he's being paid a ton based on his previous HC gig through the end of this year. What is the motivation for him? We all saw once he got the ring and the big contract he just mailed it in last time

Coach O still bleeds Purple & Gold. I'd bet money on that.

That's great, howd that help us in 2020, 2021 and then the roster leftover for Kelly in 2022?

Point once again, where is his motivation when he's being paid $3.5M-$4M already this year to not do anything as it is?

I mean you hire him how do you even pay him? Pay him on top of the buyout payments?

Some people like and want the challenge to compete. Usually those people are the highest achievers. Those that are content to live without challenges, not so much. Obvious which category most people on here are in.

Why dome some LSU fans dream of fired coaches coming back to coach? The dude embarrassed himself, the program and the university with his child like behavior. There isn’t anyway he is going to coach at LSU in any capacity ever again.

Again, we've already seen what happens with O when he gets comfortable (got the ring, got paid), we got the 2020 and 2021 seasons and a roster leftover that was laughable.

If he wasnt getting paid for the rest of this year to do nothing, I wouldnt have any obvious objections here, but you gotta ask yourself whats the motivation if he's already being paid a crap ton?

I'm sure he had offers to coach DL or be an analyst bare minimum at many places the last 3 years and he chose to not do anything football related. Why? If the fire was still there despite being paid handsomely i dont see someone sitting on the sidelines for that long. Maybe a year or two, 3 years though?

Money isn't the only motivating factor for everyone, and if that was the main motivation then it would make sense to make even more money on top of his 4m a year. He's already in the top tax bracket so nothing changes on that end.

Yeah! I watched the Championship game last evening.
All those future NFL Stars

Such an embarrassment, for real LSU Fans. Purple and Gold holding that Trophy.

Memories where did they go.
But we have Woody and Kelly to show us the true heart of champions. Who needs trophies.

Coach O is in to chasing chasing blond pussy right now. No way he wants to spend the required time coaching, teaching and film room to be successful at LSU.

You're forgetting his firing wasn't entirely performance based. He pissed off thr wrong people being a wild boii after his divorce. He's got no friends that are going to tolerate him around LSU football again.

And really...can you see Kelly and O coexisting?

I could see it happening, but for real we need someone who's going to stick around for at least one cycle of players. It's not an issue of salary b/c we're paying those dudes some serious scratch.

That was awesome, I was also at homecoming in 2017 vs Troy and watched the 2020 and 2021 fiascoes. But let's just ignore all that.

Really depends on which coach O you get. Before and after 2019 were 2 different coaches. For some, Success can be a drive killer

Ed is retired and has told a lot of folks he doesn't want to coach again.
