Karlo sure looks like he’s cemented a spot in next year’s rotation.

I didn’t think he was physical or could rebound enough to play the stretch 5 as well as PF but he is a much better rebounder than I gave him credit for. That’s a big piece that we don’t have to worry about now if Matkovic keeps playing well the rest of the way. Having Olynyk and Matkovic as big guys with a 3 point shot to pair with Missi’s size and rim running ability. You still upgrade if a deal materializes but I feel a lot better about those 3 guys now than I did.

That rotation of C/PFs is very respectable. However, Missi needs to live in the gym in the offseason and add some muscle. He needs to bulk up if he’s going to be our true 5. I actually really like Bruce Brown on this team as well. If you had Dejounte and Herb, this would 100% be a playoff team.

I’d love Brown back too but not anywhere near the $23 million he’s making this season. He’d have to sign for half that so I don’t look for us to get him back but maybe we get lucky. He clearly has an important role to play on this team if he wants it. I agree that Missi needs to add about 15 lbs of solid muscle in the offseason which should be very easy to do.

Karlo is only 23 years old so he has a lot of room to continue to improve. It looks like the game is slowing down for him.

Missi needs to add some bulk and keep working on being a threat around the paint. (20 years old)

Hopefully they can work with KO this off-season. I think KO being on this team for at least one more year could really help our bigs.

I’m excited about Karlo being in the big rotation next year. He’s a lot better than I thought he was. I hope they continue to give him more minutes this season to gain some experience for next year.

He’s awesome. What a great find by this staff in the late 2nd round

Would you all say that Griff deserves another chance with how he's been drafting in recent years? Lots of valuable rotation players, not only talented but good character too. If we hit on a star in the draft, things are looking up.

It's going to take a lot to overcome taking Kira over Maxey and Hayes over Garland, but since '21 things have been better. Though we'll see about taking Hawk over Cam Whitmore in '23. Most around here wanted Whitmore...

Let’s just hope Willie sees this as well and continues starting Karlo, or at a minimum, giving him significant minutes. There is no reason to start Kelly; you know what he is after 10 years: a 15-20 minute rotation piece. Let’s see what Karlo has. Hopefully in his last 20 games as head coach, Willie will do what’s right for the future of the team.

Whitmore has been just as bad as Hawk has been…. Whitmore also reportedly has a bad attitude and is not a very good locker room guy, which is not something we need. Hawk may not have been the right pick, but Whitmore also wasn’t.

Go back and look at that draft. Hawkins hasn't worked out, but I don't really see anyone drafted after him that would make any more of a difference. Keyonte George is probably the closest thing you'll find, but he's not exactly a stud. He has some starts, though.

Something is off with Hawkins. He is too good of a shooter to be struggling this badly. Could be mental.

Last year every 3 he took looked like it was going in and this year it's the complete opposite.

To be an impactful NBA player he has to shoot above 40% from 3

It's more than likely his back. The core is vital to both power and consistency in shooting.

Honestly, he probably has to be closer to 42% with how limited he is everywhere else

Hawk back terrifies me, if he can get it right I think his 3 point shot would come around.

I think this is what it is. Problem is for him to get better he has to play, but for his back to heal he has to rest.

I think we need to shut him down for the rest of the season, run the 2 way guys and limit Z,CJ and Trey’s minutes

He needs to figure it out soon because Reeves can potentially replace his production for a lot cheaper going forward.

Hawk should sit, healthy or not. I’ve seen enough of him to know what I do and don’t have. He won’t be a 12 year player with his deteriorating disc issue in his back. I want all those minutes going to Reeves and Boston these last 20 games. I want to know what I have in them because we won’t have much money to spend so we need cheap young talent to be the heart of the bench.

I was one of the ones that said Griff screwed up. If Whitmore was given more minutes, it wouldn’t be close. He’s playing on a winning team with actual talent. Hawk can’t make an impact with a bench full of G league level talent. Not to mention Whitmore is still only 20.

I think many of this board missed it, but there was a 5 minute interview that Hawkins gave to the media 2-4 months ago that highlighted his chronic, and likely incurable severe back pain.

Dude was damaged goods when we drafted him (he admitted this) and he’s trying to fight through it, but he’s always likely to feel a lot of pain in his back. So that easily explains his inconsistency imo.

Edit, I do now see that this was addressed by a poster later in the thread.
