There have been whispers of Corey Chest being offered 800k to 1mil to transfer.

Is this why he has been getting a lack of PT? I know they have said he's been "injured" but come on... you have to think Mcmild caught wind of this and is sitting him accordingly.

He probably got an offer from Nate Oats immediately after we played Bama.

He has gotten benched because McMahon likes the 4 guard lineup

With limited offensive skills , no.

guessing it will be a mass exodus of most of the players
have a feeling both Milllers are gone as well as chest and probably Mike Williams
all would be nice pieces on better coached and more talented teams

Let's see if he has the Chest

There’s a Corey Chest on just about every power 4 team. Athletic 6-8 guy who can play above the rim, rebound, but limited offensively. If his shot was cleaner, I could see someone coming hard after him with cash.

Fun fact: No one has whispered this.

I don't know about all that, but if people think the young guys on the roster are gonna stick around for nothing because no one else wants them (poor LSU doesn't have any talent) they got another thing coming. There's talent on this team and it's gonna cost money to keep them if you can convince them to stay. Then you have to replace the best player on the roster and numerous other pieces. Good luck with this grand new approach for Matt McMahon leading the charge for a top tier squad in 2026.

He’s worth whatever someone is willing to pay.
If I had 800k to use in a player, it wouldn’t be in Chest. And that’s the key. Whatever money we end up spending needs to be well spent.

Why would he be sitting him bc of offers?

Amount is absurd. Send them all to the Gleague

Relative to much of college basketball, McMahon has been pretty good at retaining players. Again that is relative. He retained his two highest recruits from his first class (Reed and Ward) as well as his second class (Chest and Williams). Transfers like Collins, Fountain, Hannibal, with multiple years of eligibility also stayed. He didn't bat .1000 in retaining players (no one does anymore), but he has probably been better than a good number of coaches.
However, there is concern going into next season. Year 1 he could probably sell as a "write off". Year 2 LSU showed notable improvement in SEC play (not OOC play) which could provide some momentum going into year 3. Unfortunately, the program has regressed badly back to Year 1 futility.
Assuming McMahon gets year 4, EVERYONE in the marketplace will presume it is an "ultimatum season". Win, or you are gone. Often times assistant coaches and players don't want to jump into a situation where its realistic the HC and staff will be fired after the season. We saw that happen in Jones' 2016-2017 lame duck season. And, now, with the stink of bottom of the SEC status (cumulatively) for three years, LSU and McMahon likely will not be an "in-demand" destination for highly prized transfers. Even the HS signees may become a bit leery in wanting to come to a place where it's realistic the HC will be gone.
I'm not saying this will happen. In fact, I hope it doesn't. But I can see a world where the talent on this roster will try to get off the boat before it sinks and rivals coaches will use that to poach.

Cannot shoot at all. Good luck.
