A man accused of cannibalism and murder has been granted conditional release, according to the Connecticut Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB). The board granted Tyree Smith's release after a careful review of his clinical progress, officials said

quote:

He's currently at Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown. Smith is accused of hacking a man to death with an axe in Bridgeport and eating part of the victim's brain and an eyeball.

The PSRB said Smith has demonstrated long-term stability, remained engaged in all recommended treatments and consistently followed his care.

Biden better watch out. Cannibals already got his uncle, this guy may come after him.

His conditional release requires that he remain under structured supervision and that he continues to receive necessary mental health services. Before being granted conditional release, a person is first placed on temporary leave status. This means they're still confined to the hospital, but have privileges that generally start with daytime passes to receive treatment in the community, including overnights and weekly check-ins at the hospital, the board said.

Wait, so if you shoot a guy you get locked up for the rest of your life, but if you hack them to death with an axe and eat part of them you do some time in prison and then get cushy conditional release?

Makes sense.

How long ago was the crime? That is an important question.

These judges need to be dealt with

ETA: the board of review signed off on it but the judge is the one who has the final say

Yep…..I’d like to say it would be slow and painful, but a 400 yard shot center mass is quite effective
And much easier to get away

There’s only one place for a guy like this, and it’s not outside of an institution for the criminally insane.

He was found not guilty by insanity.

Now that he is sane, he should be tried again.

A law should be implemented that if someone is to be released that was convicted of a 1st degree murder, prior to release, they must spend a 1 month probationary period at the judges house to ensure public fitness.

Well, this is how I feel about this. Let this guy live next to the people responsible for granting him a release. He can live next door to them on a rotating basis since I'm sure they don't all live in the same area.

And I hope these people have kids or grandkids that he can interact with on a regular basis--------maybe help with babysitting or health care for a sick family member............

Just a thought.
