ONCE we get control of the boarders and a year or two of cleaning house...

Trump should then offer work permits and a path to long term citizenship if they stay out of trouble. Do this for those that are here (currently) illegally IF they can prove they have been working AND prove their actual identity.

I know factually there are hundreds of thousands working under a false ID (that our government facilitated at the boarder and by the processes we setup). Good people. Working people. People this country needs to move forward.

They are working in the chicken plants. In the labor manufacturing plants (especially in the South). They are the ones building the houses and cleaning the hotels.

They are the working class. They are typically more family oriented and more religious than the average American.

Stay out of trouble. Work. Path to citizenship.

This country doesn't have the work ethic for the labor based jobs or the education to support the highly technical trades. We need some levels of immigration (the right way) to support both.

Also add to this the classes of people that are actually having most of the babies in America creating a major issue for the future.

All the while, fix the damn education system to support the economy and get rid of all the bullshite classes in high school and college funded by government.

No.

Permanent residence would be the ceiling with the one exception being honorable service in the military.

No. They need to go back and come in the legal way. This would be a slap in the face to immigrants to did it the right way.

Automatically do not qualify for benefits is the first step.

Keep your nose clean, pay your taxes and you get fast tracked. Get a felony, you're out for 10 years after you do your prison time.

We need to incentivize them to want to integrate and participate.

NOPE! The path forward for them has already been laid out. Step one. Self deport OR YOU WILL NEVER BE ALLOWED TO IMMIGRATE LEGALLY.

This has already been done!

No. Those who came here illegally should NEVER get the chance to return.

Nope. They broke the law to start the whole process. As proven by Reagan's actions, it would only encouraged more to illegally enter the country. As much as I admire Reagan, that was a massive mistake.

Why would we import any felons? We don’t have enough of our own here?

Why? We are not going to need low iq, uneducated, unskilled labor when AI, Automation, and Robotics take over which will be here sooner than you think. When this happens (and it will) we are going to have a bunch of Americans who are out of work as well. Who is going to support and pay for all this? Are you also for UBI?

Securing the border is the most important thing by any means necessary. It’s impossible to deport every illegal here so it really doesn’t bother me if we focus on the criminals fist

With that said under no circumstance should someone who came here illegally be offered a path to citizenship

Also, we need to FORCE central and south america to get better (economically, socially) on their own. If most of their talented workforce keeps coming to the US, that may never happen.

Why would you want foreign nationals in your military?

Correct. This mirrors Rome close to its fall.

They've been there for decades.

Citizenship is not a requirement to join our military.

Let them get work permits in their own country. Maybe taking people off free money might encourage them to work and participate in the future for their families and communities. This would create the needed workforce

Use Marines to repel the boarders?

You morons that believe that a judge won't rule (as they already have) that illegals are entitled to the same benefits as citizens, you know, for the children, are living in the 19th century. And the anchor babies are citizens, and programs were already created that give benefits to their illegal parents, paid for by federal largesse.

Since many of these people came from countries where you could not trust the police and the government, it will be difficult for them to get them to voluntarily participate.

It sucks that we have people who have been here illegally for decades, and we should have dealt with this crap for years. No one on either side of the aisle can agree on what we need to do to fix this system.

Everybody in or everybody out has not worked.
