If you buy that, I’ll throw the Golden Gate in free.

Teaming up with Stapleton yet again is bad move.

Chris was much better with the Steeldrivers. He’s a shell of that as a solo artist.

Also, stadium shows can die.

Random George Strait question. He had that show at Jerry World about 7 or 8 years ago that they promoted at his last show that Jerry said was the largest ticketed event ever at Jerry World(until Metallica broke the record in 2023). He has been playing shows ever since then. Was this show just a Jerry Jones slick promotion with George’s help? I remember it was a big deal around here & tickets were off the charts expensive.

He's had about a dozen final shows and his fans don't seem to care.

I saw his setlist for his Kyle Field show and it looked pretty weak. Made stop being bummed I missed it. His setlist at Bayou Country Superfest in the Superdome was way better.

Who is picking his openers? Little big town? Parker McCollum? Give me Confederate Railroad or Mark Chesnutt.

He’s definitely on my mount Rushmore of country singers but I just can’t afford his tickets and beer prices at these stadiums.

I've seen him several times, the last time I saw him was his original farewell tour in 2013. Great setlist with a lot of his album cuts from the 80's. I prefer to leave that as my last memory of his shows rather than another iteration of farewell in a huge stadium

Why does he keep doing this?

He's extremely popular and doesn't need to rely on gimmicks.

Quite an edgy take you’ve got there.

Yes. I will never attend another stadium show. Any venue with more than 15-20k is too big, and I prefer something much smaller than that.

Yep. Last time I saw chris stapleton he sky screamed about trump for 30 minutes. I guess he’s going back on tour because the checks he got from the Kamala rallies bounced

Strait never said the shows in 2012/2013 were a farewell or retirement tour. It was just the end of the 100+ dates a year he had been playing for most of his career.

Since then he has done a Vegas residency and then plays 5-10 stadium shows a year.

I think the reason Stapleton continues to open for him is that they do have a collaboration with Honky Tonk Hall of Fame, plus the tour schedule is small enough that Stapleton can continue to do his own headlining shows without either impacting the other.

I way overpaid to see him on his “last” tour too!

He never said he was going to stop performing, he was just not going to do national 150 date a year shows. He picks and chooses when and where he wants to perform now so he's not on the road every night.
