Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown recently revealed that he blew through his entire $100 million fortune earned on and off the field.

During a recent appearance on the One Night With podcast, the former Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star openly discussed his financial troubles. When asked how much of his fortune he had spent, Brown responded bluntly: “Well, I just filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, so I spent all of it. I blew all of my money. I blew everything.”

The seven-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion also claimed that his NFL earnings were taken and put into trusts for his family’s future generations, leaving him without access to the funds. “My people in my life, they just took the money I made in the NFL and they didn’t make that money mine no more,” Brown explained. “They put it away for my family generation, my kids’ kids.”

This is the least shocking thing I've read on this board in a long time.

So the people around him actually did the right thing. This dipshit is lucky and he’s pissed off about it

What he describes sounds like someone put that money in a trust he can't get to so he doesn't blow it.

Agree.

But then can someone who does such a thing file for some sort of bankruptcy to avoid taxes, bills, etc.?

I may need to look into this strategy.

So basically the making of his money is away in a irrecoverable trust, and the little money he had access to he spent.

I think with a trust, you have to do something very specific, like say it goes to your kid when they turn 21 or goes to a nonprofit you don’t control. You can’t just say “Lemme stash this money until this crap blows over”
