Seems to me all these local officials could be fired for deriliction of duty since most if not all of them take an oath to uphold the laws of the states they represent. Hell, I wouldn't even send them a warning memo. Just fire them on the spot.

Exactly. It's one thing to make a mistake on some paperwork or something like that, but this guy publicly stated what he was going to do.
