And some of that is probably true, but that is the problem.. Some of it is complete and utter bullshite to hide money and it is covered in corruption..
They will say.. these poor people blah blah blah, and then they will send 1000x that much to some other location that is bogus.. Data Republican had a tweet on it yesterday.

They just think we're stupid.
USAID undoubtedly does some legitimate work with our money that most of us would deem has some value (even if we don't want our money to pay for it).
It also does other things we wouldn't agree with, that have more nefarious intentions and that probably profit corrupt leaders here and abroad. And recently, our "soft power" has been come with strings that practically none of us would agree with and for which you can't make any argument about enhancing US power or security. Rather, they're just exporting our twisted progressive values abroad for absolutely no return.
Add to this that we can go spend 25 million on a project to teach non-binary people to manufacture well equipment (which won't ever go live) and our power is immediately undercut when Russia hands over 250k to the local government to buy oil or guns.
