Wouldn't it be easier just to sink the submarine and be done with it? And not have to worry about smugglers puling a gun and shooting one of them?

Sorry it went down like this
but someone had to lose.
it’s the nature of the business,

Is they don’t have drugs, what law are they breaking?

I always thought it would be fun to have a submarine like that and use it to tip over the small boats full of African migrants heading to Europe

Those subs are getting more and more advanced. I enjoy watching them get captured. The coast guard moves so quickly so the crew doesnt have time to dump the cargo.

It would be easier yes. But it's better to capture the sub to find out who built it, who funded it, and gather intelligence on what we're up against.

Was it able to submerse? I mean, I can see why they were caught

They generally cannot fully submerged. Definitely not for very long, those that can. The low profile is usually enough to prevent getting caught.
Some of the Newer ones are battery powered and can fully submerge. They tie off to a ship and they get pulled for most of the journey. So,eti,es the ship is aware, and other times not.
Then when they're discovered or they're close enough to their ultimate destination, they unhitch from the ship and use battery power.

If that dude falls from that vessel is he gonna be able to swim in all that tactical gear?

I would say hitting the water loaded with gear is part of the rigorous training these guys receive.

Went all Indiana Jones there.... but why didn't the sub just...sub?
What's even the point of being a submarine?
