Observation of Miss State facilities

Watching the State game after ours and it begs the question.. how is it that the 2nd school in a poorer state than Louisiana is able to have demonstrably nicer facilities with modern upgrades than LSU and TAF are able to accomplish? Their basketball and baseball upgrades are a league above LSUs.
And TAF supposedly has deep coffers. What kind of corruption goes on in that organization is what I want to know. Downvote away, call me a conspiracy theorist, but would you be surprised?

Tell us about their football stadium

Everybody but us is following the same plan and it’s working. We’re the worst program in the SEC and a bottom 5 P6 team

Are you at the Miss State gym right now OP?
Posted on 1/29/25 at 8:15 pm to LSUminati
They can invest in other sports more easily because they suck in football. Football is king at lsu and takes up most of the resources

LSU has a better football stadium
Mississippi State has a better baseball stadium

Was prepared for this response. LSU has spent less on football upgrades than they have on basketball and baseball, and they have plans to upgrade Davis Wade. It’s not like LSU has done that much to DV.

State decided some time ago that they were going all in on basketball and baseball. They know they can’t compete in football, so funds are allocated elsewhere.
Went to a couple games at the Hump last year with a work colleague—the interior renovations and amenities blow the PMAC out the water.

They’ve substantially upgraded and will have spent $50 million when it’s all said and done.

Yeah, I know. That’s peanuts for a football renovation. That’s like buying new back tires on a car.

Yea but will their tennis team be playing pickleball for the halftime entertainment? I think not !

Kind of. The city is choosing a developer to build an arena in which LSU will lease. Big difference.

State did it right when it came to baseball and didn’t cut corners like LSU did when the new box was built. Davis-Wade is still bottom tier in the conference but Starkville itself has done really well for itself the last 15 years compared to what it was back in the 90’s -early 2000’s.

I went to the Dude for a series 2 years ago. I was very impressed with the entire experience. Best college baseball park in the country.

I would much rather LSU build a new arena instead of renovating the PMAC like State did the Hump. I’ve been since the renovation and it’s lacking premium seating.
Dude is way better than the Box no doubt:

Death Valley is almost twice the size of Davis Wade. Acting like they are somehow similar is ridiculous. Anything done at Tiger Stadium is going to be more difficult, expensive, and on a much bigger scale.

We’re the worst program in the SEC
If you’re going to shite on the basketball program, at least get your facts straight. There are currently 2 MBB teams below LSU in the SEC standings as of tonight. 1-6 Arkansas & 0-8 S Carolina.
Nobody is thrilled to see us in the bottom third of the league, but we are not last, nor are we the worst. Stop spreading false info.
So far, USCe lost all 8 games in the SEC by a total of 98 points (12.25 pts/game). This includes a 35 pt blowout loss to MSU and (2) 20 point losses to Bama & Oklahoma respectively. LSU is 1-6, tied w Ar-Kansas, who we beat head to head. BTW, all 6 of our losses so far are to teams in today’s AP Top 25.
Of course the LSU MBB team is struggling, but use facts & not opinions when trying to make a point.

LSU didn’t do all it should have with the Box, but none of the current stadiums that people compare it to today either existed or were anything like they are now after major renovations, many of which happened over the last decade. While they should have done better, the TV money wasn’t the same then and we weren’t being pushed to do more like they would be today.
That said, I would love to see the athletic department do more to bring the Box up to the standards of the top 2 or 3 stadiums in the SEC.
