and really have been for a couple years before even adding Barkley. I mean elite top defense....best O line in football....a top 3 receiving core in football...a decent backfield...(now the best running back)..........

I don't really see how a more talented team can be assembled. similar to recent 49er teams. Yet they have no hardware....has hurts held them back? or just can't dominate during the chiefs era? that's barely an excuse for them though. Probably the best game hurts ever played was that Super Bowl they lost to them. It seems like more results like the game against the commanders should show over the course or the season at least in spots. They really don't take much heat having not won a championship with that roster.

Over the last 4 drafts their GM has been on a heater. The 2022 team was good but while the defense was great at getting sacks, they struggled at times against teams with good QB’s. Mahomes tore them apart in the 2nd half of the Super Bowl. Hurts played great, but the defense did not make a single stop in the 2nd half.

They lost both coordinators after the Super Bowl and their replacements were terrible - the defense was one of the worst in the NFL in 2023.

2024 brought new coordinator’s again, but these two are much better. It also helped that they hit on 2 rookie CB’s. I think the offensive line is a little better - Kelce’s replacement is good, and the younger guys have matured nicely. The defense is much better - they get less sacks, but they make very few mistakes, they make teams grind out drives.

Hurts has had a very good season. No gaudy numbers, but he doesn’t make mistakes, and is content with taking a back seat to an explosive running game. On Barkley’s long runs, the blocking is a thing of beauty with the line manhandling people and the receivers locking up the third levels.

Sirianni is a man manager. They hit on the coordinator hires this year. Sucks they’ll have to replace the OC again.

It’s the best roster in the NFL and I don’t think it’s particularly close, especially on offense. Just ultra elite across the board.

they have the most physically intimidating OL i've seen since the 90's cowbows.

that's why Barkley has been putting up huge numbers...they have Ogres on the OL

You need to be given the OweO treatment and have the ability to start threads taken away.

Didn’t read your post, but to be one of the most talented you need a big game QB. Hurts ain’t it.

Unfortunately, they’re going to lose not because of refs, but because Sirianni is going to do his thing

Hurts has better stats and playoff stats and W/L than Lamar.

And Barkley is the best player in football right now.

You have TWO MVP candidates on the same team.

If they frickin' lose to the Chiefs.

Their skill position players are as solid as a Super Bowl team has had in a long time.

All the Chiefs have are Reid, Mahomes and a washed Kelce.

Chris Jones is long in the tooth and his motor is questionable, Pacheco has lost his pop, Kareem Hunt is ok for short yardage but he doesn't scare anyone, Dhop is on his last leg, not looking real great for Chiefs Kingdom.

Chiefs are going to have to play their asses off all 4 quarters just to keep it respectable and not lose by 21. Maybe Chiefs get lucky and the Eagles cough up 2-3 turnovers in Chiefs territory and they squeak out another lucky Super Bowl. Or, maybe the refs bail the Chiefs out for the 3 peat.

He keeps breaking these big runs that bail out an offense that can look meh when he isn't hitting them.

Generally I think when you're so reliant on the big play it comes back to bite you eventually. Spags is the best DC they will have faced. But maybe he keeps breaking away 60 yard runs and none of that matters, we will see.

I also feel like we are overdue for dumb Sirianni and Hurts things. If Hurts got blitzed the way the Chiefs blitzed Allen last week he would have an aneurism.

The Chiefs have a better record than the Eagles this year

I get everyone hates them, but they actually are pretty good.
