Saints coaching search - media perspectives

Here is another story on the coach search by Armando Salguero:
LINK
First off, he is 100% correct on the optics of the situation. However, that's not what's making me throw my laptop across the room.
It's this line from the piece: "'It's a clown show,' one New Orleans source said of the Saints current coaching search."
This is just like yesterday's "league perspectives" tweet from Josina Anderson.
It's not a source within the team, or another team, or the league. It's not anyone currently employed by any NFL entity. If it were, he would have said so. They say so all the time. It's also not from an agent, because they wouldn't be considered a "New Orleans" source.
There is only one other group it could possibly come from: a member of the media. Underhill, Triplitt, Duncan, Ross Jackson, or one of their ilk. He sourced a member of the media and went to press with that as a source. They are using each other as sources!
That means that while this article draws the same conclusion as many here, it has no more value than a posting by a regular Saints Rant moron joker. It's pathetic that a writer with the experience of Salguero is resorting to this sort of tactic, and it's clouding the discussion.
Take everything you read in the media with a massive grain of salt. It has no more value than a random post you click from here.

Yet we are going to wind up with the highest ceiling young OC outside of Ben Johnson.

You can spin this anyway you want. It could be they were all in on Moore after original call. Could be everyone is backing out because the job sucks and Moore is last man standing.
Nobody knows. It’s all speculation. One thing is not speculation. The job sucks view is the easiest click bait in history.

Debatable. Dallas and Jacksonville obviously feel differently as they likely have heard of Kellen Moore and did not show interest.
Moore is a good candidate/hire but for Jerry Jones to pass when he spent years in Dallas is a concern.

With all due respect, Jerry Jones passing on a guy is a positive.

Ehh. That’s certainly an opinion (and could turn out to be true) but not one likely shared by many teams. The jags and Dallas both interviewed him but he didn’t get a second interview.

Maybe, but the guy has also hired Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcells, and Mike McCarthy. Minimum 2 possibly 3 HOF coaches. Certainly better than Loomis’ hiring track record.

Use google please.
Literally all of Dallas including Troy Aikman is crying over Moore not getting the Cowboys job

They know him best and passed on him for Shottenheimer. That’s a big red flag to me. I would melt if we hired Schotty jr.

Did Dallas pass on Moore or did Moore show no interest is working for Jerry Jones?

Agents use interviews as leverage. More interviews, more demand. I don’t see a scenario where Moore would return to Dallas

Is Parcells a HOF based on anything he did with Dallas, or was he already a HOF coach and was hired out of retirement by Jerry for him to have minimal success (34 - 30 in regular season & 0-2 in postseason with Dallas)
You also have to give Jerry credit for Chan Gailey, Dave Campo & Jason Garett

He also hired Barry Switzer, Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Wade Phillips, and Jason Garrett.
That's 3 of 8 hires will possibly be HOF coaches, only one because of his time in Dallas. 37.5 %

Loomis hired two coaches so far in NOLA. One is a possible (I'd say likely) HOF coach. 50%
Those don't seem to support your statement but maybe Loomis doesn't have enough of a sample size to determine that yet.

Could be the latter because they did show interest in Moore early on, iirc it was Jones decision to out Moore as OC and bring in Schottenheimer not McCarthys. So Moore, having worked with the Jones clan before could have told them to kick rocks.
The Cowboys have been living on credit from the whole "America's Team" BS that died back in the 90's.
Dallas, mainly because of Jerry Jones and his sons is not a very desirable NFL location anymore. But they still have the media on their side pumping rainbows and unicorns for them.
