I want a young guy that has the fire to get to the top instead of an older guy who may have been to the top at one time but there’s no way they still have the drive as when they were younger with more to prove. Either guy could still be a failure but I’d rather swing and miss knowing I tried to make a big move than hire someone line McCarthy and be a regular mid tier team.

Kellen Moore is coaching a far more talented roster.

Joe Brady is the better play caller but how they command a whole team is the real question.

if Folks (myself included) doubted Pete Carmichael's demanding ways than I'm sure as shite going to put Kellen Moore on trial for the same thing.

So how is he a better play caller in Buffalo than he was in Carolina?

I'd love Brady, but I don't want Moore.

Probably more experience?

quote:

On February 4, 2022, Brady was hired by the Buffalo Bills as their quarterbacks coach.[12] The Bills fired OC Ken Dorsey on November 14, 2023 after a 5–5 start to the 2023 season, and Brady was promoted to interim offensive coordinator.[13] Under Brady, the Bills offense went from almost entirely focused on passing with quarterback Josh Allen and receiver Stefon Diggs to being more balanced and favoring running backs James Cook and Ty Johnson, also allowing Allen to run more.[14][15] This new approach helped Buffalo win six of their final seven games to finish with an 11–6 record and their fourth consecutive AFC East title.[16] The Bills promoted Brady to full-time offensive coordinator following the season.[17]

I am actually very impressed by how well he's done in Buffalo. I wasn't sure he would be this good. People are quick to dismiss him, because of Josh Allen, but he has turned their offense into something special again.

I just do not care about what he did as a first time full time OC under Matt Rhule in Carolina. Brady has been magic when he gets it going. People try to dismiss the idea of him, because New Orleans might not have that QB yet, but wouldn't you want to try and create that same magic? You wait too long to hire a guy like Brady then you won't get him. Regardless who they hire you need a little patience.

Not sure he was the problem in Carolina. Maybe it was just a bad team? Did the offense there get better after he was fired?

It was a horrible team in Carolina.

I’m really impressed with how he’s turned buffalo into kind of a bully running team.

Honestly the emphasis on a dominant running game is the thing that impressed me as much as QB improvements for all three of the young OCs in line for HC jobs (Johnson, Coen, and Brady).

Let’s take a devils advocate position since everyone makes excuses for CAR tenure

- They had a near league worst offense
- Teddy/Darnold proved they can win and thrive in other systems
- CMC (only 10 games), Chuba Hubbard proved to be a dog in other system
- DJ Moore/Curtis Samuel/Robbie Anderson

Further, Dave Canales went into CAR and turned around Bryce Young (after turning around Baker’s career). One could say that is a sharp offensive mind and he’s probably what Brady fans think Brady is

Secondly, Brian Daboll was the OC with Josh Allen before getting the Giant HC job. He’s been a pretty big fail and could serve as a cautionary tale

I’m not against Brady. But let’s analyze the big picture and not look at him w P&G glasses. Take out his LSU and Saint tenure and people would be like frick no

Then why aren’t we talking with Canales? Another example of Loomis not doing his homework. Inexcusable as Canales has been in the division for years.

So you want Zac Taylor, Shane Steichen, Mike McDaniel or Brian Callahan and you don’t want Bill Belichick or Andy Reid.

Got it!

There’s a lot of questions and issues with Brady.
- He’s a booth coach and never been on the field.
- He’s excelled with Burrow and Josh Allen. Well Duh!!! We don’t have those guys.
- It keeps “continuity” for our team when we need to break that. We need fresh blood. Brady is a CSP and Carmichael disciple.
- Speaking of, we saw what this playcalling from Carmichael led to last year. And we moved on. Why bring it back?
- I’ve never seen Brady have any fire. He’s like Dennis Allen that way. I don’t need a Ditka or Dan Campbell guy, but coaches seem to have an “it” factor and I haven’t seen it with him.

He may or may not be a good head coach. But being objective, there are a ton of questions.

I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach it’s Joe Brady, which I would love.

I wouldn’t mind Moore tbh, though. Feels like a boom or bust move, either of which, given our roster/cap situation wouldn’t be the worst thing. If we win obviously that’s good and if he falls flat we can rebuild in earnest while he sucks.

Moore is soft as baby shite. Nothing against the guy, probably very nice, but you need to have some bit of killer instinct to succeed as an NFL HC. I’ve seen it with Brady.

Brady had CMC at Carolina, that’s it. No viable QB, and he probably was being over Rhuled on play calling….
