Looking like we'll need to swap out the battery in my wife's jeep soon. My truck has a AAA battery from Napa but I was trying to see if there were cheaper options that would last ~5 years. Seems like the EverStart brand at Walmart gets surprisingly good reviews.

Walmart 1 year waranty lead acid battery

The trick is to maintain it by charging it every 3 months or so and never let it go below 11 volts as sulfation of the plates will kill it

I put mine on a charger every now and then to just desulfate the plates

Duralast from Auto Zone. If anything goes wrong there are Auto Zones everywhere and they are great about replacing batteries under warranty.

Walmart batteries have a good warranty. They even have AGM options.

Motorcraft makes a good battery but the warranty does you no good if you don't have a receipt for the battery you are replacing.

It's basically all the same. With the exception of some specific batteries, lithium or gel, they're all made in the same plants in China and white labeled. That included OEM. Just get one with a decent warranty from a place you trust.

Mine is a AAA.

Mainly because they came out to my driveway when the old one died. Well worth it.

All I've ever used. They work well. They've always lasted longer than the warranty unfortunately

FYI, there are two batteries in that Jeep. Separate battery for the stupid auto start thing.

East Penn, Stryten, and Johnson Controls produce car batteries that are made in the USA.

EverStart batteries are made in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and South Korea.

Many car forums have good things to say about Walmart (EverStart) batteries.
All my vehicles have used Interstate and all went way past their life expectancy.

I've had bad luck with a couple of interstate batteries, and have talked to a couple of mechanics who won't use them anymore. Last one I had was made in Mexico.

And Costco prorates immediately, so there is no free replacement even if it fails shortly after you purchase.

That’s not necessarily true. East Penn in PA has one of the largest plants in the world and makes Deka among others. Exide and JCI also manufacture domestically. Lead acid batteries are somewhat differentiated by brand but essentially the same and are manufactured by just a handful of plants

This is what's in my wife's Camry and my Silverado and they are fine.
