Then covered with the styrofoam spigot cover.

My wife(no pics) got them for her and the kids.

Supposed to last 8 hours on medium. Gonna swap them out before bed.

Thinking this will work well and not leave a frozen waterfall mess like dripping which usually freezes and stops dripping anyway.

You’re fricking pipes arent going to freeze because it’s 28 degrees for 12 hours.

Yall are just like the retards that went and bought a 5 year supply of toilet paper from Costco

Just cover them. The hand warmers are very unnecessary.

It is -6 here and we got the first water main break of the year. City crew was out with an end loader scraping ice off the road.

I have no covers on my outdoor faucets and never have.

Never even heard of them before.

Good idea. Now do this on every exterior faucet, every 8 hours for the next 5 days. Don't listen to the haters, this is a great idea.

Keep us idiots who only wrapped our pipes posted

Uh, the high here tomorrow is 25, with a low of 10 and will be in the teens most of the day.

They certainly will freeze. They have before when it wasnt that cold.

FFS

Just take an old towel and wrap it around the spigot. Then take a garbage bag and put it over the towel. Zip tie it to hold it.

As long as the cold and moisture doesn’t touch it, it will be fine.

You don’t have to go over board

Nothing can stop the south from rising again…except for little bit of snow and a day of freezing temperatures.

I’ve never heard of dripping outside faucets. That makes no damn sense.

Ok but if you’re on pier and beam and the pex under the house isn’t insulated, is that still worth doing?

Thats great, but the last two years I didnt have covers and just let them drip and I was out there with a torch defrosting them.

Id rather avoid that. Covers alone should be fine after tomorrow, but I didnt want to risk with the 10 degrees.

Christmas 2022 in Knoxville it was in the single digits for a week straight. I had styrofoam covers over the outside spigots. Dropped my kitchen sink the whole time.

Nothing froze.

I’m guessing that there are a lot of individual factors we aren’t considering when determining when which pipes freeze

I think the strategic reserve turlet paper hoarders might actually be offended by your association.

Congrats on the frost free hose bibs… we don’t have those down south.
