Bill Maher is brutally honest. I just don't understand how he keeps voting for what he regularly eviscerates.

What he says is designed to maximize his ratings. How he votes is how he actually thinks.

He probably has uninsured, deviant friends that lost their homes in the fire.

I would imagine he makes enough money that politics don't directly affect his every day life.

I think his home was under an evacuation warning.

When I moved to California in the late 1970s, it was the best state in America. It was run by Democrats and Republicans. They shared power and worked together for the common good. Then it became a one-party state and that was the beginning of the decline. Over taxed, over regulated, over priced.
When I left in 2005 it was the most
dysfunctional state in America. The real decline of San Francisco came under Mayor Newsom’s two-term tenure there. Benign neglect has NEVER worked as a management policy.

He nailed it to the wall. Glad to hear it and glad SoCal is hearing it. Unfortunately for the States to their east they will be receiving more brainless leftist as residents lol

He wants reform in the Democratic Party. He will never vote R but having a bunch of Ds listen to him and not be radical is a good thing. If republicans do a bunch of stupid shite, which they have for a long time, I won’t start voting for democrats. I’ll try and vote for better republicans. He is the democrat version of that hopefully and that’s not a bad thing

He's feeling the effects of progressive policies and he sees the cause/effect paradigm, but he's probably still clinging onto the delusion that the core idea is sound and that it's just the implementation that's the problem. And that's the hallmark, and downfall, of the liberal mindset.

Screw Bill Maher. He'll keep voting for democrats just like the rest of California.

I love how he takes a shot at the South and the state of Alabama specifically. We actually do controlled burns to limit the amount of underbrush a wildfire has to consume while also praying that this will do the trick.

Still a pole sucking lib fig.

That might be the most conservative he has ever been. Attacked misuse of taxes, DEI, virtue signaling. Dumb protection of plants over humans. Having said that, he will still vote 100% liberal.

Yup. Lest we forget we are all terrorists for supporting MAGA.
He can jump in the fires for all I care. He sows division and can pound sand

I think that's exactly it.

I would add one thing.
A guy like Maher grew up liberal and has a whole lot of his self-identity wrapped up in it. He rejects God and politics is the only religion he's got. Abandoning the Democratic Party for him would be abandoning a part of himself.

I love how he calls out the deputy fire chief
quote:
you want to see somebody that responds to your call…that looks like you” which would sound kinda racist if a Southern Sheriff said it. So, we should be sending white fire fighters to white houses and black ones to…Who teaches people this bullshite?
Posted on 1/18/25 at 12:08 pm to Cool McCool
Unfortunately he’s always talking out of his arse. His mouth is just moving

…he takes a shot at the South…
Also the funny and pointed comment about imagining a Southern sheriff saying what the L.A. deputy fire chief said. A good analogy, but he and his audience are probably unaware of the fact that “the South” is no longer what Hollywood thinks it is. There is a large number of counties in Al, MS, LA, and GA, also NC,SC, and TN with elected African American sheriffs.
