Don't fall into the trap of reporting fake news.

No. He's still incompetent but no need to spread misinformation like the Dems.

So according tho this, wildlife protection budget was increased drastically?

Pardon my ignorance, but what does this have to do with the fire department fighting fires and having the water and resources to do so?

Seems like the fire department not having resources makes it difficult to…protect the wildlife that is consumed in…fires.

Wait, you were being serious? I assumed this was sarcasm. The community note points out he did reduce the budget by $101 million last year. Then they reference some obscure 9 year period where the budget increased. The original claim was not misinformation, they are just pulling in other data points to “add context” ie obfuscate.

Am I misreading this? So the post about the cuts was correct, but they are trying to salvage Newsome by pointing out that the budget has increased since 2014? What am I missing? How is the original post “fake news?”

It’s not fake news. It’s fact. It just lacks context that Newsom grew the budget substantially prior to that.

If were demanding context, then let’s ask what that reduced 100M impacted?

If it’s just eliminating catered meals - zero impact. But if that 100M reduced burn line fire prevention or something , it’s 100% connected to the failure.

So we’re being told that despite nearly tripling the budget in 10 years, California still managed the worst, most incompetent display of fire fighting and prevention the world has ever seen?

And you’re saying that’s a good thing?

Well, it’s certainly relevant that the wildfire budget tripled from 2014 to 2023. Not really relevant to Newsome because he’s only been governor since 2019.

I wouldn't trust Newsweek to tell me the sun may rise tomorrow.

The media can spin it all they want. The reservoir was drained and Biden appointed Mayor Karen to Africa.

So he did actually cut it by 100 mil.

Herein lies the inherent problem with government solutions, it’s irrelevant how much money they throw at a problem, they still suck.

I would assume it's the same as the inflation talk. Yes inflation is down but from all time highs.

It's possible that 100 mill was cut from several billion dollars.

It's still incompetent to waste that much money but people are framing as if the budget was bare bones. It's still just as bad.
