Give me your favorite 5 year run of LSU Football?

Must be unbroken chain, like 1971-1975.
Mine: 2003-2007 (count on your fingers: 03, 04, 05, 06, 07)??
2 SEC Titles
3 SEC WEST Titles
2 BCS Titles
5-0 vs Bama
Also, enjoyed the rules of the game better in this window. Old 25sec play clock, and all out of bounds plays stopped game clock until ball snapped on next play. This lead to less commercial breaks because teams averaged 90+ plays per game.
Just seemed more fun as an overall product then, maybe just being nostalgic.

That’s hard to argue, I think that would have to be mine as well.

lol Sun God, was at LSU then. 58-3 home to Florida in ‘93 at home is worst night ever.

Is it ironic this was released in 1994?

I'm old school, but can think of a few 5 year exemplary runs of LSU football during my years of following this team:
1. 1958-1962
2. 1969-1973
3. 1984-1988 (my personal favorite 5 year period; just remove the Arnsparger bowls)
4. 2000-2004
5. 2015-2019
1. 1958-1962
2. 1969-1973
3. 1984-1988 (my personal favorite 5 year period; just remove the Arnsparger bowls)
4. 2000-2004
5. 2015-2019

Until 2003, I wasn’t sure I’d ever witness an LSU National Championship. I have to agree with 2003-2007.
That said, until I was a freshman, I always played but am not sure I ever paid much attention to football. 86-90 was awesome.

I am also going to pick the objectively best 5 years in LSU football history.

I'm nostalgic to the 80's, with Hilliard and with Hodson... but realistically there's no comparison to the sheer excellence of the early 2000's. 2 BCS titles

2003-2007 has to be the only answer here.
I remember my dad crying after 2003 because he hadn’t seen a NC in his lifetime, and genuinely didn’t know if he would. I don’t remember the days before LSU was a National Brand. I was in the stadium in the 90s, but too young to remember.
Those of us in our 30s and 40s are spoiled with what we’ve witnessed and will remember about LSU football.

Without a doubt. LSU was the No1 program in the country during this stretch.
Second place would be 2015-2019.

1905-1909
5 top 10 finishes, and 1 natty
First female students admitted in 1905. Great times were had by all, or so my psychic tells me.

Agreed. And we were the best team in 2006 as well. Way too conservative at auburn and a meltdown at Florida. We would have been able to beat both of those teams by end of year. Both losses on the road againsf what at the time were top 5 teams.
ETA - that may be the hardest road sec schedule of all time.
At Auburn - ranked 3rd at time
At Florida - ranked 5th at time
At Tennessee -ranked 8th at time
At Arkansas - ranked 5th at time

i’ll go ‘99-‘03
the very bottom of DiNardo.
he gave us a brief glimpse of possibility and then back to darkness.
then the climb started.
2000 was a roller coaster.
loss to UAB. the OT win against Tennessee. and a Peach Bowl when it wasn’t a big bowl.
2001 gave us our first SEC title and Sugar Bowl since i was a little kid.
‘02 turned into a dogfight. had me questioning if we could ever actually get over the hump.
then ‘03 happened.
the UGA game convinced me this could actually happen.
Florida game told me i was stupidly for thinking that.
Ole Miss game ending the way it did told me that finally this team was doing it.
and then we did it. i finally knew how it felt to see my team finish on top.
that journey to get there made it so much better than i could have ever imagined it.
yeah i loved ‘07.
loved 99% of ‘11.
2019 was freaking amazing.
but starting around ‘05 or ‘06, it started to feel like we should be winning it all instead of we could be.
and i always love LSU football. and being among the elite is what i’ll always want. but damn, the climb to the top was just more fun than trying to stay there was.
and the atmosphere at Death Valley was so much better then.
the crowd trying to will the team across the finish line every game no matter the opponent.
just wanted to win. period.
