He supported murdering unborn children. He also claimed homosexuality was not a sin. NO ONE that stakes those positions is a Christian. So, please quit saying he was a "good man." He was not a good man.

And as Christian’s our job isn’t to judge as he will have to answer for his sins.

If he was for abortion, then he was a faux Christian.

I know what you’re saying but chill… it’s not right to question a man’s faith like that he just passed away just let it go

And these are errors that we cannot forgive or tolerate. If you're not willing to stand against things, then you do not stand for anything.

I assume Carter just wanted to be liked, and so he adopted positions that were "nice".

I Cor.5:3 I'm not there and I have judged him already... (Paul is talking about an adulterer in the Church at Corinth).

We are to judge SIN and put it away.

Yay more holier than thou gatekeeping from Christians.

He's dead and by your beliefs is in Heaven or Hell and has met his judgment. But you feel the need to judge someone that by your beliefs has already been judged.

This isn't literally about not judging people. Jesus isn't saying "let everybody do whatever they want" He's not advocating abolishing laws and courts and codes of conduct.

It's a warning about hypocrisy and understanding that nobody is prefect. You should work on your own flaws and also only point out other's missteps out of a place of legitimate concern, not a holier than though attitude (which was a big problem with the Pharisees of his day)

Morons try to twist this into "never tell anyone what they are doing is bad"

No, I just believe there is not a dime's worth of difference between Planned Parenthood and Auschwitz or Dachau.

That isn’t correct. If someone claims to be Christian, and they don’t act like a Christian it’s the church’s job to call them out.

I think it’s awesome that someone can be so firm in their belief of words, spoken by a dude 2000 years ago, written around 30 years after he spoke them, with such conviction.

Can you possibly recall a convo about anything, even 5 years ago, and quote it verbatim? The fact that people, 2000 years later, can be so assured of their interpretation of this is folly.

We always forget this.

He may not have held traditional Christian beliefs, he may not have been a Christian at all, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a good man. Some good men are not Christians. Also doesn't make him a good President. He was a horrid President.

We cannot judge his heart. Yes, his opinions ran counter to the word of God, but he also professed faith in the blood of Christ alone for his salvation.

He may have truly been saved in spite of his ignorance or even outright rejection of true and godly teachings. I hope God had mercy on him, because if he is in Hell, he is suffering greatly at this moment, and as an image-bearer of God, I would pity him if that is the case.
