What is everyone eating at their New Years Eve parties?

I’ve had a long tradition of cooking up a “fancy” meal for NYE. This year the menu is:
- Crab and corn bisque
- Salad
- Horseradish crusted Mahi with a truffle potato sauce
- Mushroom risotto
- Green bean almondine

We make our own pizzas, get the stone out and let everyone pull out their crust and then make a mess with toppings.

Christmas was a marathon from Christmas Eve to Christmas morning and night. We had a ton of party food on Christmas Eve. NYE will be quiet with crawfish etouffee and salad. NYD will be pork roast, gravy, rice, mustard greens, black eyed peas and cornbread. I love NYD food like I do Thanksgiving Day food.

Neighborhood chili followed by neighborhood fireworks. Dude cooks a damn fine chili and we put on a pretty damn impressive FW display.
Smothered cabbage, ham, black eyed peas and cornbread on NYD.

Pork chops with rice and gravy, collards, and black eyed peas would be my last meal choice.

Neighbors come over. Everyone brings a lil something. No heavy foods, we all pumping alcohol. Couple of dips with chips, wang and drumettes, vegetable tray, stuffed bread, cheese ball, cream cheese with pepper jelly.

No party this year since I'm still not getting around great due to an ankle surgery.
Will be home and will grill some prime N.Y. Strip steaks that I cut 1 1/2 inches thick, sautee'd mushrooms, baked potatoes with all the fixings: fresh bacon bits, herb infused sour cream, butter and grated cheese.

We throw a big party that’s mostly focused on the firework display, DJ, and booze..so I stopped cooking for it myself.
This will be the 4th year we get it catered by the local Chinese place. Chafing dish pans of sesame chicken, General Tso chicken, veggie lo mein, and egg rolls.
Appetizers are simple. Mini pigs in blankets, 7 layer dip, charcuterie, hot pepper jelly and cheddar/cream cheese dip, and some basic shelf stable things like salsa, French onion, etc.
Variety of sweets for the dessert table, likely with contributions from guests.

Deviled eggs, meatballs smothered in bbq sauce and crème of mushroom soup. Mardi Gras dip and Tostitos. It’s what is usually available but I wish someone would just cook a big pot of chicken and andouille gumbo.
