Zack Baun, Trey Hendrickson, etc - we can’t even evaluate guys on our own team…

Baun looks like a pro bowler but we thought the little guy Werner was better.
Hendrickson is a pro bowler and we thought Davenport was better.
Why can’t we have nice things?

Werner is a better overall LB than Baun. That scheme is PERFECT for Baun, and I am happy for him……but he is a guy that has to have the perfect system for him to succeed.
I wholeheartedly agree with you on Hendrickson though…….that was probably the dumbest move in the last 25 years.

Jesus these threads are so dumb. It’s also probably the 100th time this has been created. Every team loses good players. The Saints aren’t exempt. The truth is even with Hendrickson and Baun this isn’t a playoff team. They’d still be in rebuild.

We couldn’t afford Hendrickson. Same with Marcus Williams. We knew they were good, we couldn’t afford to keep them.
Now Baun, I have no idea why we didn’t use him to blitz when we had no pass rusher on the team.

We did, just his last 6 games of the season on our team. Showed enough to get that good contract from the eagles.

Werner is really good. One of the main reasons our defense completely cratered weeks like 6-10 is when he was out.

It’s funny because the saints traded up for Baun, so they obviously liked him, had a vision for him. Still couldn’t put him in the right spot though
Baun has more forced fumbles, sacks and QB hits this year than Werner does for his whole career. 141 tackles in 15 games, more Werner had was 93 in 16 games.

Zach Baun is playing behind top level defensive lineman in a Vic Fangio defense. The coach helped created the Dome Patrol.
Not doubting Baun's talent but of course a linebacker is going to do well in the system. Philly will have to pay more for him.
As for Hendricks, we all knew he was good. Couldn't afford him with other needs for the team. Let him walk and unfortunately his replacements didn't workout

The staff in general doesn’t know how to use linebackers outside of MLB (which is kind of hard to screw up. I’m ready for an entirely new scheme

Werner is fine. He isn’t a playmaker. He’s a run specialist. He’s not the problem though. That would be Loomis.
