What sports have changed the least since your childhood?

A lot of old folks on here, myself included, have a “get off my lawn” attitude about the NBA becoming a 3-point shooting contest and the pussification of the NFL and the college sports becoming minor league light.
What sports still give you the warm and fuzzy feelings of nostalgia when you tune in, because they resemble their form of years ago?
I feel like baseball, even with the analytic obsession, is still close to the same game it was when I was growing up. It sucks that starters are pulled quicker than ever, and I miss a slap hitter playing a major role, but otherwise it seems solid. The All-Star game is still a “real game”, unlike NFL and NBA.
I guess hockey would be my next guess. I’m not as big on the Xs and Os of that sport, and I know offense hit a lull about 20-25 years ago, but there’s plenty of young and marketable stars, and again…gameplay seems to be pretty consistent.

Baseball is is shite
Its either homerun or strike out.
There is no real consistency with hitting.
Basketball was all about a big man in the 70 and 80's and now you need a stretch Pf that can hit 18 footers consistently and only 1 defender per team for the last 5 min of the 4th qtr.

Golf, track and field.

It was better when each roster had at least one tough guy if not more on their roster. Teams don't carry enforcers anymore so the amount of fighting is way down.

Golf
It’s changed a lot with club technology, training, etc.
LIV splitting the sport into 2 factions and basically rendering regular tour events meaningless has been a huge development.

Track is more or less the same even with the shoes making a massive difference in times.
Golf is not played the same way at all due technology. Not neccesarily worse, just different. Then you have the LIV/PGA breakdown

None are the same, it seems.
Football less physical
Basketball is more about 3 for 2
Baseball, the specialization, and the hitting
In hockey, more flow and rule changes drastically hamper goalies.
Soccer seems to be more about speed and physicality.
Track how you run distance, which is morphing into sprints. The 1500 will be a dead sprint like the 800, and the field events are now more about angles, not technique and pure athleticism.
Swimming is starting to return to what it was without the speed suit, but you still have cupping, speed trunks, etc.
Speed Skating, the invention of the Klapp skate, and better ice
Biking, we all know doping and aero.
Polo or show jumping may be my answer, but I am not well-versed enough in those sports to be confident.
Horse racing is even specialized now, even more so than previous ringers in Belmont.

How far back are we talking and what rules are you referring to?

Pretty sure they made visors mandatory in the last decade or so.

I don’t think Baseball changed from the mid-90s until the introduction of the pitch clock, extra runner for extra innings and DH in the NL

Let's take a look at the changes in hockey over the years:
- The trapezoid was introduced, smaller pads for goalies since the 2006 lockout.
- The two-line pass-offside rule has been eliminated.
- The neutral zone is now much smaller, which has resulted in a larger offensive zone and improved flow of the game.
- The trap is allegedly outlawed
There have been many additional changes in the last 15-20 years as well.

It is almost now Drive for Dough Putt for Show instead of how Trevino said Drive for Show and Putt for Dough.
I think you do not need to hit the putts, and 2 putts are more common due to length and ability to spin with the new club.
Maybe I am wrong?

Just about every sport or game has at least had the meta evolve over time even if there weren't any actual rule changes. Even chess has openings that used to be super common that have fallen out of favor over time as they've come to be understood as too inferior to others or too common so the top defenses are widely known thus they always play out to a draw.
