This would mean moving to permanent standard time, right? Which we're currently on? So it would continue to be dark at 5pm for 3 months of the year.

So, is the plan to make DST the new ST once we switch in March, or is the plan to not do the DST switch in march? That is a very important distinction and only one is the correct route.

I hate the time changes and would be happy to see them go. But I've also lived in Atlanta which is very far west in the Eastern Time Zone. Without the time change, it will be dark to about 8 AM there.
Also, if we get rid of the time change, I'm for keeping Daylight Savings Time and not switching over to Standard Time.

Why would anyone support less daylight throughout the year when you get home from work? Making ST permanent would be a stupid change.

I, for one, hate when it gets dark at 430 and will be very upset if daylight savings time is truly eliminated.
