You’ve been seeing a lot of this in recent years and you’re going to be seeing a lot more in coming years.

If people cannot get a responsible, more efficient, and more responsive government then they will seek to create their own.

In some cases, the local government will respond and throw some bones as Atlanta did to Buckhead. In other cases, the local government will attack and seek to destroy like Baton Rouge did to St. George.

Yes they can and would because of too much law and order and families, not enough trash and decaying buildings.

This will be National if they ever eliminate the electoral college.

The hill to die on.

There is a fair argument that blue states subsidize many red states via their federal tax revenues getting redistributed towards red states.

Again, this sort of national divorce bullshite cuts both ways. Folks need to stop letting people with agendas pit you against your family, friends, and neighbors.

would be great - and Mr Preston need not call the rural secession areas "New California" ...take the rightful name "California" with them and let the liberal shitholes find something else to use as a name -

Yeah, and this is because many Corporations still exist in Metropolitan/Urban, Blue areas which were the epitome of a civilized and prosperous society. Watch and see them flee to the Red areas and take their money with them. How many CEOs are going to get shot down in the street before they wake up and smell the Blue-dysfunction/ insanity coffee.

For the Left, the very word 'Profit' will become a four-letter word instead of 6. Absolute DEI as it were. Albeit there are very complex and profound argument to be had in an honest and comprehensive argument re Capitalism vs Socialism and Individualism v Collectivism.

I think if the US completely collapsed and we had to do re-do, city-states would be the answer to this.

In some cases you are correct. However, in the case of California, which I think we can agree is what were really talking about. They would prefer to be 3 states. I have family out there that are farmers and they are dominated by the Big 3. (LAX, SFO, SAN) Unfortunately, those big cites love making policies that affect farming and ruin lives.

This push back needs to happen. Blue cities and states need to be starved out. They need to pay for their policies, not us.

This is similar to the Greater Idaho movement looking to add most of Western WA and OR.

Gotta feel bad for all the good guys trapped in California. Trump got 6 million votes in California. More than any state other than Texas and Florida.

This is a game the left can play too. DC and Puerto Rican statehood loom.

But the Puerto Rican's voted no on statehood for reasons that they deem are more beneficial for them to stay a US Territory. They still might want to stay a US Territory.

A majority of these subsidies are only serving the left, which is the problem to begin with.

1) I’d be interested to see the support for this point if you have info.

2) Can’t help but wonder how many of those red states are taking money from blue states because of the large blue cities that suck the rest of the state funding dry.

The political dominance of a big city is not unique to the U.S. All the money in England is in London. All the money in Russia is in Moscow.
