Cassidy has never been a great candidate but we have a lot of rinos in L that will come out for him. The changes in the primary should help Fleming though.

Going to be a fascinating race. Cassidy will have a huge advantage as incumbent with a significant war chest. Fleming is wealthy and can self-fund, which should mitigate that to a certain extent.

Will be interesting how involved Trump gets in the election. He is certainly more aligned with Fleming politically, however, some of Trumps biggest financial supporters in the state are behind Cassidy and could convince Trump to stand down.

Not if Cassidy opposes any of his nominees.

Cassidy has to go, he's no better than Liz Cheney. Closed primary will be his undoing. No peace for the RINOs, and don't forget his vote for removal of Trump.

Even if Cassidy wasn't a turn coat he said he wouldn't run again so either way he's flat out lying to his base. Problem is the RINO section of his base as someone mentioned above.

Can’t say this enough.

I hope his office continues to enjoy my communiques insisting he resign for his perfidious conduct and unforgivable disloyalty to DJT.

There's no chance of this happening whatsoever. I can guarantee Trump has a list with Cassidy's name on it. He doesn't forget.

Anyone stupid enough to put a single fricking dollar in Cassidy's war chest doesn't deserve to have any wealth period.

Flemming stepped up and he will be rewarded for it.

I'd be willing to wager he will support 100% of the nominees.

This is crossing the line in the sand that can neither be forgiven nor forgotten. Cassidy is a POS and I hope Elon and others put their full weight towards primarying the GOPe scum who voted for removal and also the ones who are objecting to DJT's nominees.

Does he really have a base? He won just to get rid of Landrieu. Now with a closed primary and his support of impeachment, he's likely toast.

If Trump campaigns for Cassidy's opponent and comes out strong, Cassidy is toast.

There is deep, deep dislike for Cassidy in Louisiana and it's widespread. and deeply imbedded. There are many who have vowed they will never vote for Cassidy again. It's not just the anti-Trump votes, but also his bring-home-the-bacon priorities, which are killing our country with federal spending.

I agree 100%, but I don't think its a foregone conclusion that he will take an active role against a sitting Senator that some his closest allies in the state support.
