We are now seeing the effects of giving children money to play sports.

Everyone looking for the big payday. It will only get much worse from here on out. Parents are now getting involved pushing their child as the next elite athlete that demands millions. What happened in travel sports has gone to a new level and it involves money.
Then to make matters worse, the player can transfer the next year if they are not playing, making it even more difficult. The ruination of college sports has begun and it won’t be pretty.

No different than aau basketball. Just a bigger stage. Bought and sold like cattle.

I really think it’s greedy parents pushing these kids to take the biggest bag over the best school for them. These parents only look at these kids as meal tickets

Recruiting is and always has been a dirty dirty business. It's just more money and more in the open now.

and sadly, a high % will be right back where they are now in 2 years once no one else wants them and see the players for what they are. but hey, they'll have their moment with some new wheels.

Maybe but the rate that this will fail, will be monumental. What happens when these kids are getting agents to negotiate for them? It’s going to happen. We haven’t even seen the biggest issues yet. Letting them get NIL was the start of opening Pandora’s box. There should have been limits to this from the get go.

Bingo.
This should have been considered when making the rulings that led to this, especially in the courts - good judgement precludes giving kids this kind of money.

Can’t blame a $12m offer…
But flipping for a couple 100k is like a parent telling their kid to skip university to go work in the refineries so they can get help with the electricity bill.

The kid flipped to his home state school who is competing for a title. It’s not like some trash program he never visited just threw money at him.

Yeah, that’s why I prefaced with this specific instance. I was clearly talking about other people with the rest.

The sad thing is after the parents and entourage get theirs,
the player
will piss his away on bling and strip clubs and end up under an overpass
after all those so-called family and friends abandon him.Ask MC Hammer
about this.

They have been being paid for a long time - Billy Cannon made a mint a long time ago.

The level of money going to these young men is way out the top In three to five years if this keeps up let me know if you are still buy your season tickets

They will have to get a players association like the pro leagues. For the sport’s sake, that’s what prevents the Caleb Williams of the world from asking for team ownership with the team that drafts them. Every kid with a pulse wants to see what he can get on the open market now and most aren’t worth it what they are paid

I thought this was already happening

Cash is king in America. Would you tell your son to turn down the highest bid from his home state school? Y’all are blaming the wrong people. Kelly and LSU are to blame more than anyone. They can’t close.

What do yall expect them to do when billionaires are coming in the 11th hour and throwing millions at these kids?
LSU doesn’t have those billionaire backers throwing around money like that. They can compete with normal NIL deals, but not ones from desperate billionaires
