My wife is a huge Christmas movie fan and we generally watch one every night leading up to Christmas Day.

The problem is I am tired of watching the same ones over and over.

Can anybody recommend some good ones that have come out recently?

We watched Christmas Vacation last night and it's still funny as hell. I just don't want to watch Elf for the thousandth time.

8-Bit Christmas (2021) was pretty solid. Neil Patrick Harris telling his kids about the glory days of when the Nintendo first came out.

There was a movie where Goldberg was a homicidal version of Santa I saw a few years back that was something

It’s more than solid. Great story telling, very funny, but also hits you in the feels. It’s a must watch for me every year.

On Hallmark- "Christmas on Call" and "Christmas Quest" were actually good and different from the traditional Hallmark movies.

The Holdovers is an excellent choice (and don’t skip through the opening title sequence)

Last Christmas is from 2019 and is like a higher quality Hallmark movie with Emelia Clark. The wife and I watched it a few days ago and I was surprised at how good it was (relative to the Hallmark genre). It's on Max.

Spirited (Ryan Reynolds and Will Farrell)

A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong. They’re on YT, out of the UK. Also Nativity Goes Wrong and Christmas Goes Wrong.

8 bit christmas (recapture the magic of 80s-90s christmases, and that feeling you got when you opened that N64, NES, etc...)

The Holdovers (tugs at the heart strings... love the way its filmed to look like an older 70s-80s movie)

Spirited (very interesting take on a christmas carol. has Will Ferrell and he can be a bit much but I think he did well in this roll)

A Christmas Story Story (this ended up being a bit of a tear jerker)
