Name your best brand of base layer thermals. Getting older and the cold weather bothers me a little more now.

Babytac will be here shortly to tell the OP what he wears when running his 5 miles in 45° weather.

Usually no lower than Rockwool R-15. It is a little itchy, but I've never frozen to death.

How much do you want to spend?
First Lite merino is expensive but will keep you warm and comfortable. If you hit the right time of year they have great sales.
I mean you can buy a good set at Bass Pro for way less. Again, how much you want to spend?

Under Armor has always worked for me at very cold tailgates and games.

Amazon merino baselayers are the best bang for your buck

Ive had the Red Head Elite Zones base layers for a couple years now. Have hunted in single degree temps and they hold up.

Most days my under armor works well. I also have some fleece base layers I bought at Scheels but it has to be damn cold to wear those.

Just get the ones from basspro or cabelas. They work just fine for sitting for whitetail or in a duck blind. If you were out hiking and moisture was a problem, maybe merino is your best bet. But just to stay warm, the basspro fleece are just fine.

The older I get, the less I wear. Merino base layer, joggers and a hoodie, bibs and a jacket. All the same from °50 to °20.

Alpaca wool or merino wool. Spent two weeks in Alaska moose hunting. Holllow socks and merino wool layers were crucial.
