Age or state of sports in general?

Am I just getting older and burnt out on sports or is the state of the games just overall bad now?
NBA - load management, stars hardly ever play or play hard, bright colored pained courts. Used to love the Rockets but can’t make it through a game anymore.
College Football - unbearable. 4-5 hour broadcast, transfers, kids could care less about the town or school they play for, playoff system, etc.
NFL - stoppages after every play for review, players come out after a big play to ‘rest’, injury riddled teams
MLB - overall better with the pitch clock, but still markets to nobody. Playoff games at 1pm on weekdays, etc.
Am I just an old fart or is anyone else on the verge of moving their life on from sports?

I really only watch college football and LSU baseball.
Nothing else is worth my time. And LSU football these days...

I’m not at that point…yet.
Baseball still resembles the game I grew up watching. CFB I still watch a ton of, but it’s getting harder and harder with it becoming NFL lite. NFL has always been sort of second tier to me, as Sundays were my days to recover from an LSU gameday.
The NBA is borderline unwatchable. If my team isn’t in the playoffs, I’m not watching. I’d rather tune into reruns of King of Queens.
I find myself spending more evenings watching Netflix series or true crime shite these days. Sunday and Monday Night Football used to be must watch, but now I just don’t care that much.

LSU won the last real college football championship. COVID titles and NIL era titles are different.

That’s why I like high school sports, kids are playing simply for the love of the game.

I’ve almost come full circle. As a kid it was baseball mainly, but still watched the nfl etc. Then into college it became football (nfl and college) and stayed that way for years. These days I’ve come back to baseball, both mlb and college.
Football is almost unwatchable, and don’t get me started on the nba. Baseball really got their shite together with the rule changes and I’ve enjoyed it.

I’m the same. I’m 50 and am at the point where I don’t always watch my favorite teams. But I keep up with the scores and occasionally sit to watch a game.
I used to follow everything NCAAF and NFL related. Now it’s just not that important. As far as college football is concerned, I’d rather watch small D1 or even DII games before I watch random Top 25 D1 teams. The guys on the smaller teams might not be as good, but that doesn’t matter.

Your complaints about the NFL are stupid and have always existed
College football sucks though

You can always go back to being able to watch maybe 2 college football games a week on TV

Been there for a while
Never been into professional sports
College football was on the decline for a while and NIL/transfer portal finished it off for me
College baseball and college woman’s basketball is heading in same direction very quickly
More time for things I enjoy

It’s hard to watch anything that pushed DEI but doesn’t practice it when it comes to winning.

I’m the same. Used to listen to football games on the radio when they weren’t on tv. Would watch every time on tv and go to 2-3 games in person every year. Would get really pissed when we lost a game we shouldn’t.
Now I go to a game every couple of years and completely missed 3 tv broadcasts this year. Doesn’t ruin my day when Pittman and crew piss away a game.
Low T? To many better options to keep me entertained?

The lack of innocence of sports whether it be pro or college has put a black mark on sports for me. Sports has become Hollywoodized with its money and self promotion. Sports was better when the athletes did their talking with their talent. It seems now what they say and do between their day jobs is more recognized than their abilities.

To each their own I guess. CFB for me is limited to LSU and that’s faded this year. The last two games, I turned off and went to bed at halftime or switched over to something on Netflix. This is something that I have never done in my history of watching LSU good or bad.
Also, as fun as it was to watch Burrow and Daniels, let’s face it. They were transfers, didn’t really care for the university, never stepped foot on campus for a class (online classes), and lived off campus.

I enjoy college football but it takes a backseat to a lot of other things. I'm not going to skip out on hunting, fishing, weddings, etc to watch a game.

Can it be both?
All 3 of my kids are in sports so a lot of times when I finally get to sit down to watch something the last thing I want to see is more sports.
I forgot about the LSU vandy game last week completely, when they are putting out a shite product it makes it hard to watch.
LSU baseball is still fun to watch for me but I don't adjust my schedule for it.
