for me, 5 players come to mind.

Kaleb Jackson- I completely brought the preseason hype and thought he would have a monster year. Due to the poor run blocking and Jackson’s vision still being raw, it hasn't materialized

Jardin Gilbert- Thought he would finally provide much-needed stability at safety but he has been a disaster. liability in coverage and awful tacking in space. We are seeing now why A&M was comfortable letting him walk.

Dj chester- I thought he would be an upgrade at C but it's clear as day he is out of position at center

Braylen Swinson- I thought Womack would eventually replace him but swinson has gone on to have a monster year and has carried our pass rush at times

Ashton Stamps- Another player who I brought into the camp hype. All the reports said he flashed great ball skills and was our best corner in camp. i thought he would emerge as an SEC Cb1. However, not only is it clear Zy is far and away CB1 but it's also clear Stamps does not quite have the athleticism or ball skills to be an sec caliber cb1 or even cb2. the 2025 class should lead to him slotting to cb3 or moving to safety.

The one that immediately stands out to me is Nuss. I still think overall he's playing well considering the playcalling, etc., but my goodness I thought he'd have a much better deep ball than he has shown. So many overthrows or misses. All the deep shots are really short to mid-range passes that go for big YAC, like AA against A&M.

Yep, for me the Offensive Line, I really thought we'd be a better run-blocking unit than we are...

Spelt “Kaleb” but yes. I thought he was gonna be an absolute unit. Was not aware he is legally blind.

O Line, Nuss — thought they would be much better. Swinson better than I expected. Rest of the DL is a bag of dicks

Yea using slang is definitely the same as spelling someone’s name wrong.

disappointed in nearly every player. the beginning of the year defense was bad. it got better and offense imploded.

Swinson, and Weeks have been very good. Basically, everyone else has underperformed.

Lacy - I thought he would have improved from last year, but he's the same or maybe worse on consistency.

Which is head scratching because it's the one thing he did well in his limited playing time in prior seasons. Never thought it would be a weakness in his game.

Nuss, after the bowl game I thought he would be the next great

Campbell for a preseason AA and potential top 5 pick, he has been really disappointing

Kaleb Jackson, thought he’d be the next great RB

Perkins, thought he’d re-establish dominance this year but was a total no factor before the injury.

He seems to be a between the tackle type back so it doesn't help that the interior of the offensive line has underperformed this season.

I did not expect Aaron Anderson would be our WR1. I feel bad for him and Mason Taylor because they give it 110% every game and are both clutch af.

I expected more out of him too but since we haven’t seen it I expect he comes back next year. My preseason expectations for Nuss next year is heisman contender. JD5 had plenty of criticism here 2 years ago then was a runaway heisman on a 3 loss team last year.

Yep. But I don't think the struggles are totally on him. This running game approach sucks. Unless a back is able to make people miss on his own he has little chance for success. Jackson is more in the mold of the old "Miles" backs, Hill, Hillard, Fournette who are more "downhill" one cut runners. That's not what this offense does, nor have they show any desire to adjust the awful run game.

Yep. He came into the Mizzou game last year in a spot LSU couldn't afford to miss a beat offensively and performed well. I thought is increase in size (relative to Turner) would be a benefit and whatever first year starter issues could be alleviated by the rest of the OL. They haven't, and have only gotten worse with Delinger's injury. He may eventually develop into a good player...just not this year.

Aaron Anderson - I thought he was small and given the lack of production in his first two seasons I didn't have high hopes. Plus, he didn't seem to fit what LSU wanted to do with their WRs. I was wrong. He's arguably been LSU's most consistent/impactful WR this season.

I think the deep ball is on the players as much as nuss. We don't have guys that can go high point. Lacey is too slow for go routes it seems, Anderson is 5'8, zavion maybe 5'10, Parker hurt, hilton looks like worst college wr ever seen.
