Are you scared of WW3?

I never understood why people get mad when talking about current situations. I had a coworker like this and he thought everything was controlled in the World by a group of people that would never let Trump win. When he won in 2016 he changed his tune and said Trump was part of the group. He said Russia would never be allowed to invade Ukraine and when that happened he said Putin was in on the elites plan.
I think certain people are scared to think about the World not being in full control. Their brains can't handle the fact it could all blow up at any minute.

Well, on one hand living would become difficult for a while.
On the other hand, the cesspool inner cities would be gone.
One door closes; another opens.

If you're a believer in Jesus then no.

I have a 20 year old son. So, yes.

Scared of that 1982 made-for-tv miniseries with Rock Hudson? A little unsettling, I suppose.
edit- on a serious note, no I'm not worried much about "WW3". But it is unnerving to know there will always be small potential for a muzzie zealot to get hold of a nuclear weapon or something bio and wreak havoc. But I think nations are so interconnected these days, I find it difficult to imagine an ongoing conflict between the big dogs.

This guy was a believer. That's why I came to the conclusion that some people just can't handle the thought that everything is not controlled

We have a demented old codger in the White House that doesn't know what planet he is on. So, if you are concerned then there is something wrong with you.

I’m close enough to a big enough city to be wiped
So what can you do but accept the insta death

I'm so old I remember the Cuban missel crisis.
I lived far enough outside of D.C. that I didn't think we'd be bombed. But we heard all the warnings that people in D.C. did.
Then I went to the University of Maryland (very close to D.C.) one summer to take a series of classes. One of our class rooms was in the aerospace lab. One afternoon sirens went off and two huge sirens on poles two stories high came up out of the ground next to our class room.
It scared me badly. No one else in the class reacted. I asked why. They all said "they test them every so often and nothing happens."
I still remember how they scared me, downwind of D.C.

I grew up during the Cold War. I kind of expected it to happen to tell you the truth.
However, I'm less scared of it now because, despite the saber rattling, I don't think Putin is willing to end the world with a new Trump Presidency on the horizon. He knows that a peace deal will be made soon and he will most likely get those two territories that he wanted along with a renewed promise that Ukraine will not become a NATO state.

If you have lived where tornado sirens are all over you don’t even think about the sirens anymore

Sure, most people should have fear of nuclear war. But also it’s not like a crippling thing or something I even consider on a regular basis. Our politicians should absolutely make decisions with that possibility considered though

Lighten up Francis .
Not everyone is going to blow up all at once. Most are going die slow deaths in nuclear winter from starvation and radioactive fall out.
The ones that survive will be the ones that suffer the most trying to rebuild society.

Not really because there isn't going to be a WW3 from this Russia/Ukraine nonsense. NATO could crush Russia and they know it. The U.S., Japan, S.K., Australia/NZ, and ASEAN would crush China and North Korea. That only leaves Iran, but they're too geographically isolated and have too many issues at home to really worry about.

No, but I’ve been under the opinion for a while that WWIII started the day after WWII ended.

I applaud his intellectually consistency.
He's crazy, of course, but he's more consistent than 80% of this board on such topics.

You know what fascinates me? That you can keep people from (for the most part) running into each other at 50 mph by just drawing some lines on the road.

Not if it is limited to DC.
