Try Envie Smokehouse. They'll be at Pelican to Mars on Sunday.

Offset is the best place in the city, no one is close

I hate to say it bc downvotes incoming, but...... The old Sonny's on Florida Blvd. has always had consistently good BBQ. It's not mind blowing, but always good.
ETA: Jay's on Sherwood is decent BBQ, but their beans are absolutely horrible, vinegar tasting garbage.

Not too far from BR but Oak & Smoke on Hwy 42 in Prairieville is my favorite.

Slim pickings for bbq in Baton Rouge. I used to drive out to Wayne’s bbq in Livingston, but they closed.

Overall Quality: Offset BBQ
Close 2nd Place: Smoke Bayou
Overall Value: Hannah Q
Sonny's is fine for pork but pork is the easiest to do. LA only has a handful of places that can do pork AND beef BBQ well.

Offset smoker is the best, but could use some improvement on their sides and ribs
