What do you expect the market to do the next 4 years?

Multiple buy the dip opportunities. His first term had 13%, 20%, and 35% drops. They’re coming. Volatility is back!

I think the market will go up most of the time haha. Seriously though I think trump forces lower rates by the fed, doesn't go through with the majority of tariffs, and will continue the tax breaks he did in his last term.
One thing I feel pretty confident about it that the housing market will go crazy in the next couple years and we have some sort of falling out in 2027. Maybe wishful thinking on me scooping up some vacation properties for non insane prices. I think once rates start dropping the run on real estate will be mind blowing, and last longer than anyone expects, and prices go insane then the inevitable crash, in larger markets at least.

I think technology is going to make companies more profitable. Market will run hard for 10 years.

Trumps first term through Covid.

Every time Trump tweeted, the market would react and there would be wild swings up or down. It will be interesting to see if that’s the case again this term.

Up overall.
If government spending gets efficient I’m not holding my breath but that would be a huge boost to markets.

A little bit of a disingenious statement given we had COVID during that time. We will definitely have some dips and some gains, but to expect dips up to 35% is probably unlikely. TO have any S&P gains over norm is also unlikely too. The reality is no one can answer this question (people paid a lot of money to do it can't answer this), so if you are risk averse in the next 4 years, don't invest in the market. If this is a long term play, the S&P will average (historically) 10% over it's lifetime.

Personally I can't really base much of how the market is going to react based on Trump's first term. Covid wrecked a lot of the market. I could see it going on a much bigger run. And if Trump can clean up any of the waste in the government and reduce taxes, it would go a long way.
But, for the last 6 or 8 years, it's felt like the market is absolutely primed for a tanking. You can only fight natural market progression for so long.
In the end, the market goes up regardless of who is president historically. I think Biden was the first president in a long time where the market ended at a lower value than when he took office if I recall correct.
Dang it GT, you beat me to it.

Why are you asking about the next 4 years, that is a strange number.
Are you panning to retire in 4 years? Buying a house?
Trying to time the market in that time frame is not a great idea..

The market as a whole may perform as another 'lost decade' over the next 10 years. Individual stocks will perform better... Choose wisely.

Market flourished under Trump. Covid killed the market if not for that it would of really gone up tremendously

That's the chart I recall seeing, but obviously my memory failed me. My apologies for that. I try to leave politics out of the MB but obviously the gist of the post is loosely correlated to politics. Must have been Bush that I was remembering.

The market ended 2020 up ~13% from the pre-covid peak.

Thank you. I wish they would stay on their board.
Dow went from 20k to 30k under Trump
Dow went from 30k to 43k so far under Biden.

It went up. Whats your point
Just so happened the tech sector went crazy under Biden. Not that Biden had anything to do with it.
