A 1500 is a 3/4 ton truck. That would be around 1500 lbs. max payload

ETA: Crap, that's a Ranger. I thought it was a Chevy 1500.

quote:

The payload capacity of a Ford Ranger depends on the cab and bed configuration, and can range from 1,411 to 1,860 pounds

Reminds me of the time i was getting a quint fluid end, which is basically just a several thousand pound hunk of steel, hot shotted to me from San Antonio to North La. Dude pulled up in a small truck with half the bed caved in and said he blew out 4 tires on the way. Actually had the balls to ask me to pay for it LOL.

I can tell you that people have no concept of what rocks/boulders actually weigh.

This one is 410lbs and is called Odd Haugen's Tombstone. Only a handful of people have shouldered, this guy being the one with the most reps:

And that's "just" 400lbs.

Have to give him some credit, I didn’t think he’d keep it on the pallet.

while it looks bad, i think the sound was the pallet, not the truck. I mean, it's stupid and bottomed out but the truck is probably fine.
