Is there a worse company in existence than Baton Rouge Water Company?

Pay my bill online for a fee and get a confirmation number. Two weeks later I get an urgent disconnect notice if I don’t pay my bill by November 8th. Decide to try to pay at one of the local merchants, but there’s a sign saying Baton Rouge Water Company payment system is down.
Decide to go ahead and go to the Baton Rouge Water Company to straighten everything out, but you can’t go into the lobby you have to go through the drive-thru. Get into that long drive-thru line outside for about 30 minutes
When I finally get up front the clerk tells me that my previously attempted payment was rejected so I will need to pay by cash which I don’t have on me.
I decide to go ahead and pay by phone with a credit card, but the computer voice that accepts payment is so garbled I have to attempt it a couple of times to make sure that I understand correctly.
Who in the hell is running that shitty company?

I've always heard Baton Rouge has pretty good water. Is that not true?
I drink it out the tap all the time when I'm staying in town.

It is from a natural aquifer, so it tends to be pretty good compared to most areas.

BR Water is bad but ENTERGY is infinitely worse. Their website was built by a bunch of morons and they keep changing it but it somehow gets worse every single time.
I loathe paying them. I end up screaming at the computer screen every time.
Just one example. You Log In and then it takes you to a screen that asks if you want to go to your Account. Why the frick else would I log in? It’s a useless page requiring a pointless click. Then it asks at least twice if I want paperless billing and they make it hard to get off the page without agreeing. Then the kicker, they try to force a donation to the fund that pays the bills of people who won’t pay their bills. NO. I do not want to pay someone else’s bill.

And to set up automatic drafting, you have to send them a cancelled paper check. I don't have checks so I'm forced to keep paying a fee to pay online

I have been trying to setup autopay for at minimum 10 years. For the longest time they wouldn’t set up online billing either so the only time I paid it was when I got the disconnect notice in the mail. I think they live off of those $50 reconnect fees so they don’t want you to pay your bill.

BR Sewer is way worse. It's tacked on your water bill but not for BR Water Company.
They re-average your bill every 6 months BUT only UP. They will continue to charge you the higher rate even if your usage goes down.
They base their bill on your water usage not what you actually run down the sewer, so you are paying sewer if you are watering your lawn, etc..
If your average goes down you have to call them to adjust down and they will only do it if your 3 month avg is down.
So if you fix some running toilets, call them back in 3 months while they continue to charge you the higher amount for 3 months.
My last water bill was 25 for water and 150 for sewer. Ridiculous.

I had been on autodraft for 8 years. Had my water cut off.. I called to see why.
