People placing advertising signs in grass at stop signs (at my house)

I live on a corner lot. There is a stop sign on the corner and people keep placing those signs with the metal rods that go into the ground, like you see for political signs, in my grass near the stop sign. These signs are for tree trimming, grass cutting and house cleaning and all kinds of other services.
I understand that this area is a servitude, but it’s my lawn, I cut and maintain it and I don’t think people should just put their signs there. They could at least ask me for permission. Why would they think this is acceptable to do?
Anyway, I just pull the signs up and toss them. Am I right or wrong?

I do the same. They don't like it, don't put them there.

If its your lawn then you're not in the wrong. I wouldn't be THAT annoyed, I'd just throw them away. Unless it became like a constant issue with one company.

You are right and it is against most town ordinances.

You are absolutely right. However, the problem with these types of signs is they are very cheap. So if a business wants to place a bunch of them, 75% of them can get immediately thrown in the trash, and they still have a damn cheap advertising campaign.

1000% right.

They make good holders for the stick-on targets. I usually try to keep a few on hand for sighting in my rifles.

This. It’s considered litter. Perfectly fine for you to throw it away.

100% justified. I would not want that crap cluttering my yard.

i don’t think anyone would fault you for this. it’s your property, you didn’t give them permission to put it there.

Doesn’t matter. It’s illegal in the city (it’s also illegal on state owned property). Remove them all you want.
The problem is there is no real enforcement as DPW or DOTD is responsible for removing them and all that ends up happening is they get thrown away.

The metal frames without the messages make good supports for some garden plants ( like peonies and glads) and for late season supports to keep frost preventing remay or other row cover off plants when light freezes are forecast.

Don't throw them away, they make great targets. Just tape a range target over the sign and there you have it.

They take up not insignificant space in your trash can.
On the other hand, the guy across the street from me has a city crosswalk sign (8') that's been laying flat in his yard for weeks, I guess that'd take up more room.

Take a sharpie, blot out the message and leave the original phone number.
The write over the phone # " I want to suck your dick tonight for $5. Call me".

I pull those signs up even when they aren't on my lawn. They are trashy.

“ad spots available $350/mo”

In BR that shite is against the law. There are 2 people on the ebr parish payroll to remove them. When covid hit broome suspended the removal and the signs double at minimum. They are a frickin eyesore and trash up a place pretty damn quick. It's legal for anyone in br to remove them from non private property. I've seen a few old dudes policing the entrances etc to their neighborhoods yankin that trash up.
