Honestly, they seem like such farces of conservatives aside from the abortion issue. Or the other issues they bring into the Republican Party like contraception, shekels for Israel, the Ten Commandments, school prayer, or anything related to sex. Look at Mike Landry and Mike Johnson. Are those seriously good conservatives to you?

The Evangelicals look even less trustworthy when you look at some of their pre-Reagan figures. For example, William Jennings Bryan, most known as the Scopes Monkey guy? Well, what's less remembered today is that he was pretty much the original communist of US politics, before even Huey Long.

The Evangelicals made a faux conversion to the Republican Party under Reagan, who himself was a fake conservative and a former Democrat.

Barry Goldwater, unlike Ronald Reagan, was an actual conservative. And Goldwater talked about the dangers of letting the preachers into the Republican Party for a reason.

In the grand scheme of things, they're the least of my worries.

I'm a hell of a lot more worried about the Atheist Left than I am about the Christian Right

Just think…Democrats have demonized Christians to the point of vandalizing and burning churches. Yet they are silent on Islam which openly hates Gays, Trans, Jews, Christians and anyone who isn’t brainwashed to their hate. Democrat trash is all about picking the darker color and manipulating them for votes. Using other peoples money.

Just think.

Republicans should have a near permanent, untouchable majority in the Senate. The reason they don't is because the religious right has too much influence in party primaries and they insist on nominating drooling morons who go on to lose to Dems in ruby red states.

I identify as more of an authoritarian. Democracy only works when the constituents are people of high caliber. When morality takes a back seat to secularism and false idols, then democracy leads to communism.

I want a return to Christian values. Some of those may seem to conflict with the, "Greed is Good" path that our modern neo-conservative leaders have us on, but I'm okay with that.

I know people will draw the comparison with the likes of past fascists, but we need a Marcus Aurelius. Stoicism is greatly needed. This idea that government should be the hammer to every social (n)ail is emblematic of a morally bankrupt people.

Unless they are black preachers then grifting is the thing.

How about thoughts on the basis of Christianity, Jesus, and his Gospel. To the degree that *Conservative* Christians ascribe to and apply compassionate and merciful Gospel Principles, they will be overpowered by Secularist ideologues who serve their own religious master, such being a Worldly morality-based DEI, manifest as Transnational Progressivism.

Just like the Islamist fanatics, Secular (no God) Transnational Progressives are unencumbered with any moral restraints in regard to applying violent means to accomplish their lofty ideal. Humans have no Divine Soul, in their world view, and are just animals and due the same respect re their innate value. In fact, TP accepts a massive population reduction as a necessary part of their total control aspirations. An absolute 'control' which they believe is necessary, given the advance and application of suicidal High Tech employed in the ideological, religious and relative affluence competition which are the basis for war.

Bottom line: Christians are restrained by their Master's Gospel, and will always lay down, when the arguments fly in the back rooms of the power brokers and the votes/policies are then taken in public. However, when the painful consequences of those votes/policies manifest as the 'Government'/societal ethos nullifies God-given Rights to their Christian belief and economic freedoms...only then will the gloves come off. Christians cannot in good conscience, throw the first punch.

The Good Lord willingly crawled up on that cross the first time, but his promise re His 'second coming' is to be "with a sword". The sword being the violent reactions of people as the Truth (Jesus said "I am the way, the TRUTH...") is manifest in ways that it was not the first time. It is all a matter of Vision, as the essence of God creation of Humanity/spiritual life/ personal reality is subjective. Perception and preferred choice ultimately IS or becomes one's 'heaven' or 'hell'.

Mud on the wall.

I’ve never fully grasped this term or who it specifically refers to. There isn’t a significant group of politicians working to establish Christianity as a national religion. Are we labeling any conservative who believes in legislating morality as part of the Christian Right? If that’s the case, it seems like an overly broad definition, especially since many liberal politicians are challenging Western morality through legislation. I often hear about radical right-wingers, but I rarely encounter any extreme right-wing legislation, particularly at the federal level. What would that even look like?
