Despite what many LSU fans tend to think. Sure it seems like Arkansas as a whole cares about this series much more than LSU does but the idea that LSU is above this series is laughable.

It’s been a great series since Arkansas joined the SEC. LSU obviously has the superior program. This series is right there with A&M and Auburn in how it’s still a big game for both sides yearly. It’s not as big as Bama Florida or ole miss but it matters.

Wish we could just play them on black Friday again every year. Was a great time spot.

I wish we would play them in late November. That mess with TAMU was ridiculous. Arkansas is kind of our natural rival now since they really don’t have one in the conference and neither do we. Plus the games have always seemed to be close these last 25 years for whatever reason.

There’s not anybody in the west that I don’t consider a rival. Tack on Texas and Oklahoma now. Really half the east I consider weak (vandy, uk, usc) but I don’t consider anyone in the original west a gimme

When I started spending time in Arky for work years back, I discovered how much must of their fans hate LSU. I just laughed it off and said “in my experience, LSU fans just don’t think of you guys much.”

i don’t know anyone that says LSU is above it.
just hat if you ask LSU fans to rank teams they just hate and want to beat more than anyone else, Arkansas would probably get very few top 5 votes.

it just never really developed into a true rivalry.
Way more often than not, the division was already decided by the time the game got played.
There really isn’t any “bad blood” between the two schools.

Sure it’s an SEC game, so it’s not taken lightly and we absolutely want to beat them. But the “hate” just isn’t there between the two schools.

Who said it isn’t a thing? We play them every year so of course there's going to be some type of rivalry there.

But Arkansas cares way more about the game and it’s not even close. That trophy means a shite ton to them.

I’m from Arkansas. Nearly all my family went there. Uncle has a suite, etc. shite I even know their fight song.

LSU is the biggest opponent on their schedule every year. There’s no other team they want to beat more than LSU. You could add Texas and possibly Ole Miss if you’d ask someone from the delta.

LSU? Most people put the Arkansas game behind Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Auburn before they took them off our schedule.

No shite the game matters. There’s been a lot of classic games between the two programs but the hatred is absolutely one sided.

They are a rivalry as much as any other SEC team is a rivalry.

exactly.
we’ve played them more than we’ve played Auburn.

but the Auburn series got heated and intense. wild games, cigars, code reds, division championships still on the line on game day all just added fuel to that fire and true hatred amongst the teams and fan bases developed.

there’s bad blood and hatred between us and Florida. massive games, the hurricane fiasco, them and that stupid cat skeleton, the shoe toss that sunk their program

there’s generations worth of hatred between us and Ole Miss.

there is hatred between LSU and Alabama. division and national championships riding on every game for a decade, the Saban factor, Game of the Century.

LSU Arkansas have played some really good games against each other.
But most of the time the games didn’t have anything riding on them.
And they were played in a horrible time slot. And for the first 20 years or so of division play the games at Arkansas were played in that shitty stadium in Little Rock instead of on Arkansas’ campus.

maybe if the 2002 scenario, winner wins division, crazy ending, happened more often then some true hatred would have developed. Or had Petrino stuck around a few years after the 2011 hand shake situation?

Texas and Texas A&M are bigger rivals historically with Arkansas than we are. But seeing as they will now (thankfully) get to play each other last weekend of the season, I want our little piggies back.

It is a rivalry for Arkansas, and not for us, which is why it is close every year.

That was our family game every other year until we got season tickets. I wish they still did that too.

Lifelong Louisiana guy until moving to Arkansas about 4 years ago. First of all its a terrific place to retire. Beautiful state, with like a $200 million surplus in the state budget. The people up here are totally crazy about the hogs. No professional teams in the state so the hogs are all they have. As far as how much does the LSU game mean to them. Probably more to them. In my opinion they might have the"little brother" complex, thinking they don't get enough respect. Here in central Arkansas I would say Ole Miss is #1 on their hate list followed by us.

So many amazing Friday games against them. I loved the games in that little stadium we’d play in.
