We have smart tvs now but have always been more comfortable with our Apple TV box so we haven’t used the smart features…
TV in bedroom is over 10 yrs old and Apple box has crapped out…instead of buying a new Apple box we are thinking of just buying a new smart tv with no Apple box…
Some questions…
-best 60” smart tv for the money
-can you access any app on most smart tvs?
-tv with simple processes and user friendly remote?

Thanks in advance for the help…

Unless you go high end, most brands are VERY similar these days.
They're probably made at the same factory and just relabeled.

ETA: 60" TV in your bedroom?

I've gotten to where I prefer Roku (or Apple, Fire Stick, etc.) over the smart tv. Roku just has more apps, updates them more regularly, and has been more stable in my experience. I am using Samsung smart tvs that are a several years old, though, so maybe their platforms are better now. Before I went to Roku I thought our living room tv had screwed up because the smart TV froze on the loading screen and not even turning it off would fix it. It did "fix itself" eventually, but I had already decided to go with Roku because of it. If it messes up, I just buy a new Roku.

I would suggest upgrading your apple box and buying a cheap 4k tv

You’ll get better responses on the Tech Board. I bought an LG G3 on Black Friday last year and it’s a great TV. But I still use a Roku Ultra with it as it’s superior to the TV’s platform.

Save yourself hundreds of dollars and buy a TCL Roku TV. It’ll meet your bedroom needs. Easy interface

Samsung

This. We have two of them, and will be adding a third in my home office soon. I've got the 50 inch in the living room, and 43 inch in the bedroom. Probably another 43 for the office since it isn't very deep.

LINK

This is the type we have, and for the price, the picture is great and the smart features are as well. Samsung smart TVs also come preloaded with a ton of internet channels that are free. Old movies and TV shows, game shows, Bob Ross channel, nature shows, kids programs, news channels etc.

I'm just here to say that the Roku app is a whole lot more user friendly than the FireStick app. I have no idea where the remote is for the Roku TV in the bedroom, but I don't ever want to lose the remote in the den with the FireStick.

58" Roku TV- $238

No real TV rec but I think you are going to find that running a dedicated outside streaming device will still be far superior to almost any integrated TV streaming software.

Samsung TV, Google TV, etc just aren’t as good as Roku TV, Apple TV, etc and a lot of TV streaming software is just clunky and slow. Focus on the TV picture specs and just get a Roku box.

This.

Hisense is also a solid choice for a bedroom TV. We have TCL Roku TVs throughout our house and I have a Hisense Roku for my office. Works great.

Huge TVs are so cheap and similar these days it's worth it to just basically get one of the cheapest ones you can find and ride that one until it craps out and then rinse, repeat.

Don't get a Vizio.

We have Samsung and LG. I prefer the Samsung.

My experience using the TV apps is they are slow response. I would replace the Apple TV box. Also the TV maker is not going to support updates to the software after awhile.

Just a heads up, most newer (this year) TCL tv’s have switched over to the google platform in my experience.

Roku makes their own TVs.

I like their SMART interface the best.

Also just got a 65" Samsung Frame and it is pretty slick
