Ever wonder why that crazy Karen lady flipped out when you cut in line at the self checkout at HEB? Or why you see purple-haired freaks with all kinds of weird tats and piercings?

Well...it's because almost everyone you encounter in real life, or here, these days, is probably under the influence of some prescribed barbituate, which they most likely rely on every day like a crutch to remain stable, functional, and sociable.

***

People need to put down the pharmaceuticals and start looking at natural, less chemically-based alternatives, if anything, to stablilize their mood.

Pills won't ever cure you or fill that hole in your heart. Only God can do that.

Be Well

The marriage between doctors and pharma needs to end. Most doctors are just legal drug dealers these days exercising no root cause analysis and not treating the body as a complete system.

At 47, I’m proud to say I’ve never taken prescription medication. I’m also pretty anti American doctors. No different than a street drug dealer in my mind. They’re owned by insurance and pharmaceutical companies and are no longer in the business of healing but in getting you to come back.

Seen so many lives changed by bullshite diagnoses and outright lies to get people on the pill train. Gullible people will believe anything they say because they’re a ‘doctor’.

A doctor actually told my ex to give our 5year old small amounts of Prozac. All came from the pre-k director whose entire family is medicated. When I went up there everyone started back tracking or saying “ it will help her”…. Because she’s shy? Hell I’m shy at times.

Now the ex and her kindergarten teacher thinks adderal is needed.

My dad is a psychologist and I’ve been around this my entire life. Medicine should be a last resort. Parents engaged in their children should be first.

Have some compassion, people need their Adderall just to make it though the day.

The only pills worth taking are the ones that make your dick hard.

100%.

Go spend a few hours in a big chain pharmacy

There are people picking up 15 different meds. Some they don't even know what doctor wrote it or why they are taking it.

Sad thing is most of it could have been prevented, by diet, exercise, and not smoking or being an alcoholic. Gets to a point you are taking meds to
combat the side effects of other meds.

Then you have 65 year old grannies sucking down stimulants like Adderall. Of course now they can't sleep, so they come back with a script for Ambien.

I think a lot of us are just doing too much. We’ve made life much harder than it needs to be. We are ignoring our natural instincts and chasing “metrics” that aren’t real life but mimic life

It's completely out of control. 80% of kids are on some sort of mood enhancing meth to help little Timmy do better at school. You don't see this anywhere else in the world. Europe or Asia prescribes meds for ADHD at a fraction of our rates.

It's the American way, apparently. Fat? Take a pill. Depressed? Take a pill. Have anxiety? Take a pill. Don't actually address the concerns in your life - medicate your way out of it.

What really started irritating me is the kids. Mostly boys being boys. An “overactive” boy is not set up for success in the current education environment.

Classes are set up for everyone to be in line and behave, recess being cut shorter and shorter, little to no sunlight, fricking atrocious food programs, and it’s the kid’s fault he is bored out of his mind and acting out?

Sadly this is because women typically enter the education workforce. Not that this is insidious, they just don’t understand boy behavior. They do not understand the educational system in the context of young boys, so the standardized testing system of education begins to fail them.

Do our trades guys really need 4 English classes in high school? They need geometry, trigonometry, maybe a general life class of understanding mortgages, insurance, investing for the future, how 401k’s work…basic understanding of useful subjects. Maybe entrepreneurship classes, how business loans work, startup costs…subjects that may interest them. Not English, vocabulary/spelling. A greater importance needs to be on social studies and how our Representative Republic is supposed to work, not the democrat hijack of “democracy” nonsense spewed.

…ok that was a rant

my high school offered a (possibly multiple) personal finance class(es). there was definitely an entrepreneurship class too.

I don't think we need anyone taking fewer English classes.

Cigarette companies purchased food companies. Our food is poisoning us and is made to be addictive. People are turning to pharma for a “cure” when pharma is just selling them more poison.

The cure is eating clean and exercise. It’s really simple.

This is actually one of the biggest problems facing this country. We desperately need more male role models in schools. I'd actually be willing to may more taxes if the schools agreed to pay men more than women just to get them in the workforce.

I concur. People no longer have the courage or willpower to naturally deal with negative things in their lives, so they medicate.
Things like depression are natural, and everyone experiences some form of depression from time to time. Folks need to stop being complete pussies and let it run its course without the use of pills or whatever.

Don't ever mention that a good diet and exercise can overcome a majority of the things that people are on meds for. Yeah, it is pretty insane how many pills young people are taking, especially psychoactive drugs.
