I just got about 5lbs of large 16ct shrimp. They’re already peeled so I was trying to think of what to do with them. Wanted to do something special besides the typical fry or boil. Any ideas?

Shrimp and sour cream
Sauté several chopped sweet onions, add shrimp until cooked, add x amount of sour cream, add flour to thicken if needed then serve over rice. I’ve only done this with a pound or two, five pounds you will need two skillets or a very large electric skillet

Never heard of that. I probably won’t use all 5lbs. I may do multiple different dishes I’ll have to try this.

It’s super simple and is really good even if it doesn’t seem like it would be.
What about “bbq” shrimp in the oven with French bread to dip with the butter sauce

Best thing to do in my opinion is buy a half and then split
That's what I'll be making this weekend too

mushroom shrimp escargot.
super simple super delicious, especially for gameday food.
google a recipe that fits your tastes
in a nutshell:
put shrimp in mushroom that has stem removed.
saute diced onions, garlic, diced mushroom stems in butter and seasonings.
pour seasonings above in mushroom and shrimp
top with parmesan cheese.
bake.

Have a taco/burrito bar set up. Put those shrimp on on a stick for just a couple minutes over a hot fire and then go to town.

Roast them on a sheet pan in the oven with just about any seasoning you like. Lemon pepper, fajita, greek, whatever. Spread them out in a single layer. Only takes a couple mins. Add a dipping sauce to compliment the profile.

Use some for a shrimp fettuccini, some boiled in seafood boil for a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and depending on how many you are cooking for, you'll likely have some you can just freeze for later use.
If you'd have left the heads and shells on, I would have suggested BBQ Shrimp like Pascal's Manale fixes. That is always a huge it when I make that for us. All that is needed to go with it is some good French bread to sop up the cooking liquids for a hell of a treat for a meal.

I've got a chicken on the stove in a pot to boil down so I can pick the meat off it later and will use the meat to make a King Ranch Chicken Casserole to toss in the oven for Saturday.
After I pick off the meat, all the bones go back into the pot to simmer overnight to make a stock and that will be strained and frozen for later use.
Nothing goes to waste around here.
