I realize he had some issues in his presidential campaign attempt, and was always going to be an uphill battle on that end.

But as a governor, he really is one of the most effective Republican Governors of all time. He just flat out knows how to lead and govern and get shite done. His hurricane responses have been amazing, and you have to think from the perspective of a normie who just wants effective leadership in their government, who provides the basic functions of what government is supposed to do, they have to appreciate that.

He has also effectively pushed conservative causes forward even when normal Republicans would have shed away from them. And by doing so, was able to stretch the overton window on these issues. That is a skill that is almost unheard of in Republican politics. Normally Republicans run scared if they have to take a side that may not be popular in the moment, DeSantis looks at problems and sees where they will be at down the road, and even how he can move people to his position.

But he chose the wrong footwear. Gotta keep that out of white house.

He and JD Vance are the next incarnations of Hitler - that's what we'll be told by the media when they're both running for president in 2028.

He has been more effective at the hurricane response than other governors. I am sure this is appreciated by residents of Florida who have been impacted by the storm.

DeSantis has grown on my significantly in the past six months. I was not pleased with him trying to get the nomination this year, everyone knew it would be Trump. But with that said, if DJT is elected, DeSantis needs to finish up his term as govern and them be given a cabinet level position in DJTs administration.

DeSantis and his ability to spar with the media and crush them still gives him the opportunity to be Trump in a future race where Trump isn’t running. He also needs to put some weight back on. He was way more commanding with some extra pounds. He acted like a dweeb when he was running for President. Health be damned, do it for the country.

I wonder if this thread is treated as well as other DeSantis threads? I would not vote, would stay home if DeSantis were the nominee, even the VP, of the GOP ticket.

He is loved by the Bush - Cheney consortium.

No doubt DeSantis is a very good Republican, but he hurt himself trying to run against Trump. He is probably better suited for the State level, because going forward, Vance is the future of the Repub Party on a National stage.

Well said! Grateful and proud to have him as my governor. His strength is in action. I’ve always found him a tad cheesy in front of a media camera, but he crushes action and results.

Someone said that he is interested in becoming head of FEMA - not sure how true that is but he would be amazing in that position

The thing about Vance is that he can go way harder than Trump ever did and have everyone begging for more within a few weeks. His approval jumped from like -17 to +4 overnight

If he'd have just sat on the sidelines for this one election - who knows what may have been in 2028.

Now I don't know what will happen. I'm assuming Vance will likely inherit the MAGA arm and I think that whole faction of the GOP is going to remain extremely powerful. By even creating a counter Ron/Trump movement in these primaries, Ron established his own future enemies in the party.

Why does running for an office make him their enemy?

DeSantis would be great. He made a huge mistake believing he could upend Trump because the RINO Trump haters had him believing that fake indictments would force Trump out.

But in 2028, he will be top billing. This is no longer Republicans versus Democrats to be POTUS. This is Constitutionalists who want an autonomous successful America versus Neo-Con Globalists who want a One World Government and have latched on to WEF to bring that to fruition.

Remember when he had the chance to lol at himself and prove everyone wrong

Instead he folded. That wasnt a good sign of someone who can make it through the gauntlet
