MSM not covering Helene

I just browsed every major national news website (FOX, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, CBS) and none, yes NONE, of them have Helene as their lead story. WTF?
You have to go to local affiliates to get any details.
Why is the MSM basically ignoring this disaster? Because it's mostly white folks in Appalachia? Because FEMA is broke due to spending on illegals?
Someone enlighten me, please.

That is strange. Usually they jump on the 'Climate Change' thing and it's front and center 24-7.

Because it's a bad look when we don't have a functioning president.

If it were a Republican administration, they would be addressing this and explaining how this was somehow related to systemic racism.

Seven people from our company in Asheville don’t have a home to go back to.
It’s bad.
It’s bad.

The stuff I’ve seen on TikTok is insane. I havn’t watched regular news but if they aren’t covering that there’s no excuse.

Same folks who wouldn't shut up about ' Super storm ' Sandy, which wasn't even a hurricane. Which is weird, because for all the climate crisis whining they DID, they oddly ignored the aftermath, where the Obama admin did jack diddly on helping out anyone. Those stories died as quickly as the Maui wildfire coverage.

Whitey has to go to the back of the line these days.

Because we are one month out from the election and they don’t want anything to make the current administration look bad
The real question is wtf is Joe Biden doing he’s completely disappeared

It's the predictable news cycle. Give me a body count, and everything else is yesterday's news. Besides they'll have a new toy to play with in the Gulf come midweek according to the NHC.

Killing or imprisoning Trump is their big focus now. Climate change isn't on the agenda today--thus, no coverage of Helene.

We're in Day 3 without power and they're telling us it could be another six or seven days. I've got a Generac and two Predator 9500s in series so, as long as my fuel holds out and I stagger use in stages ... I should be good for a few more weeks.
We've got gas shortages here and certain people are getting short tempered at gas pumps.
A lot of people are coming across the river from Georgia, driving into Columbia, looking for gas, food, etc.
Hotels over here are slam full ... Columbia didn't get hit too bad but everything west did well into Georgia.
I too have noticed almost non-existent coverage from the MSM and their numbers are woefully inaccurate when they do briefly mention the outtages, injuries and deaths.

I was just doing something similar and searching msm. Really is strange. I think yesterday afternoon cell service was restored in several areas. Have to go search WNC reddits just to get news out of that area or local news affiliates as mentioned.

Wait...just a couple days ago we were mad and wanting to fire the NHC because the storm was nothing. Now we're mad the media isn't showing the disaster?

I've been awaiting the announcement of FEMA activity - and POTUS declaration of disaster area.
Haven't been searching for it - but think I've just got to see some mention of it by now - not a hint that ANYTHING is happening wrt federal relief assistance.

Spartanburg and Greenville counties have been a mess. Chimney rock NC completely wiped out.. thank god I bought a generator a few years ago.

It's on the FEMA website but, like most morons running DC, they haven't the foresight to know most affected people don't have electricity, internet or cellphone.
