The thing I don’t understand about local media re: the cbs article

Maybe someone can help me out because I just don’t get it:
John Talte writes this article about the program in this market, citing industry sources. It takes all of 5 minutes to find out he’s written negative articles and put out negative tweets about BK over a sustained period.
So Hunt Palmer has him on his show. Great. I don’t expect Hunt to berate the guy or anything but i also didn’t expect him to basically just hand the microphone over and let him restate his story in audio form as a plug for people to go find the article and click on it.
Scott Rabillas writes an article that is also more defending the writer than anything else.
Moscona also goes out of his way to, while questioning the article it self to a point, bends over backward to disregard these very easy to find history of articles and tweets about BK.
I’m not saying they need to defend LSU just to defend LSU, but in a situation where there’s an obvious agenda at play do you really need to sweep that under the rug? There has to be more to the story here? I legitimately do not get it.

LSU is entering a Jimbo / A&M type situation with BK. It all starts with these types of articles in the media. Eventually this will spread discontent with boosters and the fan base.

While Talte may be biased and/or misinformed, there’s no excuse for Palmer, Rabalais, and Moscona to carry his water.

Blake Ruffino and Moscona roasted the guy. Hunt was dumb for having him on his show.
The program is fine. The players like Kelly. Despite all the BS you hear about Kelly he’s a player’s coach. He’s cut from the same cloth as Saban. He’s a hard arse but it’s tough love to make you into a better man.

Matt certainly did not roast him. He said he disagreed but kept saying how much he respects and likes the author. It was a lukewarm roasting at best.

Hunt comes around here. I really would love to hear his opinion of all this in an LSU forum. I heard that segment & Hunt gave the guy the mic & let him say his piece. I didn’t expect Hunt to argue with the guy or berate him but I did expect Hunt would come back after the break & “debunk” the opinion since there is nothing floating around anywhere that corroborates this article. If there was, someone locally would be bringing it forward. Between all the former players we have with platforms & the guys who are plugged in, there has been zilch backing it up that I’ve heard.

Nah. CBK is not a hard arse. I'm with you, I don't think he's "lost the team", maybe CBK can even shore up the defense before Ole Miss, get through the regular season with 9-10 wins.

Hester said it was bullshite this morning, and went out of his way to say “I’ve been in that locker room.”
Granted, I think Hester is pretty careful not to air dirty laundry. But I don’t think he would come out that dismissive of the claim if he didn’t actually think it’s wrong.

If the BR media disagreed with this Alabama/CBS clown's contrived "rumor," they should have challenged the guy on it. Instead, they gave him a forum to repeat his unsubstantiated claim and, in Moscona's case, simply said (after they got off the phone with him) they "disagreed" with the writer.
Not exactly hard-hitting radio journalism. Not exactly journalism, actually.
(Rabalais is always going to feather-dust a controversy, so his take was not surprising).
I guess we have to understand the radio mentality. Their haunting daily mission is filling time segments. One guest equals one time segment.
That's all they care about. If they can find a guest who says dinosaurs were fake, they're not going to challenge him. On the contrary, they're grateful the guy filled up a segment and they'll thank him at the end of the 10 minutes.
