MMM. My money matters

Vice-president Kamala Harris has signalled her openness to the idea of reparations for black people, saying she would not rule out executive action if she wins the White House in November.
Speaking to the National Association of Black Journalists on Tuesday, Harris was asked about her position on the issue, which is typically confined to Black Lives Matter activists and far-left radicals.

Her thoical word salad but here is what she said other day. “I think Congress ultimately will have the ability to do this work. I’m not discounting the importance of any executive action, but, ultimately, Congress because if you’regoing to talk about it in any substantial way, there will be hearings, there will be alevel of public education and dialog that — and I think that was part of the spirit behind the congressional action thus far — to ensure that everyone can participate in this conversation in a way that elevates knowledge about history and the reference points that have, that are the impetus of this conversation, especially, again, when people are trying to deny history, when people are, you know, so-called leaders are saying that enslaved people benefited from slavery. I mean, let’s talk about the deltahere in terms of the work that needs to be done. It’s profound.”

No, that will not lead to inflation.

And many folks will be broker than they were before the reparation.

Didn’t I recall some lady spent her stimulus check on King Crabs?

when I read that it sounds like she’s not sure what reparations even are. She could have been talking about a limitless number of government actions or inactions based on the lack of context within her “statement”. And people act like she’s a better speaker than Trump

I'm an idiot, but I don't think this would be constitutionally possible. Congress has power of the purse.

This is not going to happen and I’m dubious she ever said it.

lol pandering

SC would shut that down thankfully, but not willing to risk it. She doesn’t need a chance to do anymore damage to the economy. Her economic platform might be the worst in the history of American presidential campaigns

It's funny how you only hear about all of these magical and mystical plans before an election

This didn't stop them from doing a student loan bailout even after the Supreme Court told them they had no authority to do so.

How about reparations for the descendants of the Union soldiers that died fighting to free the slaves.

The U.S. government granted pensions to Union veterans of the Civil War, and to their widows, minor children, and dependent fathers and mothers. Widows whose husbands died during the war got a significantly larger pension than those whose husbands died after the war.

That's not what she said. She was asked if she would be open to an executive order for reparations.

She replied, "I'm not discounting the importance of any executive action," she said, after noting that she thinks "Congress ultimately will have the ability to do this work."
